Coronation Street fans call for Brooke Vincent to return after throwback snap

March 6, 2022

Coronation Street fans have begged Sophie Webster star Brooke Vincent to return to the ITV soap, after the actress posted a sweet throwback snap on social media.

Brooke began playing the daughter of Weatherfield residents Kevin and Sally Webster more than 19 years ago, and many fans could not believe how much time had passed.

Neither could the Corrie star, with Brooke posting a throwback snap on Instagram of her as a child when she began filming the soap, saying: "19 years difference! Still none the wiser!"

However, the nostalgic post has brought back memories of the character for fans, with many calling for Brooke Vincent to return to the cobbles as Sophie Webster.

Fans flocked to social media to ask the star if she would be returning, after taking a break from the soap in 2019, with one saying: "Ever coming back to Coronation Street? You’re missed."

A second added: "When you back in Corrie? We miss you!"

Brooke's fellow Coronation Street co-stars also commented on the post, with Sally Ann-Matthews saying: "There’s my beautiful nuisance," while on-screen sister Helen Flanagan called the photograph "beautiful".

The Sophie Webster actress took a break from the soap following the birth of her son in 2019 with her footballer partner Kean Bryan, and gave birth to their second child in 2021.

However during her time on Coronation Street, the cobbles star was involved in huge storylines including her relationship with Kate Connor and Paula Martin.

The character later departed the soap, when Sophie decided to go travelling to Cambodia.

Although fans have called for the character to return, Brooke revealed in an interview with Daily Star in 2021 that she is currently focusing on being a mum, but that she does miss her fellow co-stars.

She said: "I left to have my first little boy [Mexx] and then I always knew I wanted my children close together, so then I had my other little boy [Monroe] and I'm just being a mum at the minute.

"It's kind of a decision that we made as a family and it's just nice to have that special time with them without having major distractions of what's been going on."

Brooke added: "I've not seen anyone [since I went on maternity leave] so I really miss everyone."
