In recent weeks Coronation Street fans have been eagerly waiting to see whether Corey Brent (Maximus Evans) would get found guilty of Seb Franklin’s (Harry Visinoni) murder. Corey and Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) have been on trial for killing Seb, however, Corey has placed the blame on his pal and has insisted he is innocent. Despite Seb’s girlfriend Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) retracing her steps and remembering it was Corey who killed her boyfriend, justice was not served as the villain ended up walking free from court.

In scenes which aired on Friday, viewers saw Corey get found not guilty by the jury.

Seb’s mum Abi (Sally Carman) has been fighting for justice for her son and she was left in shock when the verdict was read out in court.

It comes after Abi suspected Corey’s dad, Stefan (Paul Opacic) of bribing witnesses so that his son would be seen in a good light.

As Kelly stood in court, the judge said: “Can I ask you Madam Foreman have you reached a verdict upon which you are all agreed?”

“We have,” she replied as the judge asked: “On the count of murder contained in count one, do you find the defendant Kelly Neelan guilty or not guilty?”

As the foreman read out the verdict of guilty, Kelly could be seen breaking down in tears.

“Corey Brent, please stand,” the judge continued.

Before the foreman read out the jury’s verdict, Abi was stood outside court and she got a text which read: “Abi, guilty.”

Although, as Abi walked into court, Corey was bragging to his dad about being found not guilty.

“Come on,” Corey celebrated. “Dad, what was she was going to say, it was like a game show or something.

“And the winner is… you should have seen your face.”

“Let’s just keep a lid on it until we are outside, okay?” his dad replied.

As Abi looked on, Corey continued: “On one condition. Curry, I am starving.”

As Corey and Stefan left the courtroom, Corey turned around and looked straight at Abi.

He then smiled and gave her a wink before shutting the door behind him.

The segment left Corrie fans fuming with many claiming they were going to “boycott” the soap until Corey was put behind bars.

One raged: “F*****g boycott Coronation Street. Doesn’t deserve views.”

Another penned: “I’m in bits I can’t believe Seb died like I swear to god if Corey gets away with it imma boycott #corrie.” (sic)
