Casualty fans complain about lack of masks after heartbreaking Covid episode

January 16, 2021

Casualty viewers have complained about the lack of masks in Saturday night's episode, which comes just weeks after the show's heartbreaking return which centred on the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, other fans have been left completely confused about the timing of the episode, wondering when it was supposed to be set.

During the episode, the hospital staff could be seen without PPE while patients and visitors were there without face coverings.

Viewers were left scratching their heads, considering staff are usually completely covered in protective equipment and masks are now required indoors in public spaces.

One said: "What's with Casualty? Couple weeks ago was about coronavirus, now not even a mask in sight."

Another wrote: "Has Covid now disappeared? Where are the masks in A&E on Casualty?"

A third tweeted: "I thought masks were being worn after lockdown one?"

Someone else commented: "Patients are still not wearing masks yet then."

However another pointed out: "I think there's a degree of artistic licence there. You'd never be able to hear the actors if they all wore face coverings."
