Britain's Got Talent star Charlotte Jaconelli unrecognisable nine years after appearing on show with pal Jonathan

December 22, 2021

BRITAIN'S Got Talent star Charlotte Jaconelli looks unrecognisable nine years on from her audition on the show.

The singer was just 16 years old when she auditioned for Simon Cowell as one half of singing duo Jonathan and Charlotte.

The singing pair made it to the finals and impressively finished as runners up on the 2012 series.

At their first audition in April 2012 they sang Andrea Bocelli and Celine Dion’s duet The Prayer.

But Charlotte faced a crisis when music mogul Simon, now 62, suggested Jonathan dump her because he thought she would hold him back.

However the BGT runners-up stuck together and despite losing out on the win to Ashleigh Butler and her dog Pudsey, the duo were gracious in accepting second place.

Charlotte said at the time: "Oh my God, we came second. It's incredible."

Today, Charlotte looks a world away from her BGT days.

Her Instagram page, which has 19,300 followers, is home to an array of colourful snaps capturing a glimpse inside her vibrant life.

It appears that she's still singing – and made her West End stage debut in 2018.

The singing star appeared in the original cast of The Boy in the Dress and more recently played the role of Ms Fleming in Heathers The Musical.

Charlotte still has her gorgeous long brunette locks she had when she auditioned for BGT but the now 26-year-old is all grown up.

After Britain's Got Talent, Jonathan and Charlotte went on a UK arena tour.

The pals first met at school in Chigwell, Essex, when they were both 11.

However despite starting their journey together, Jonathan previously admitted that the duo were no longer as close.

Asked by Lorraine Kelly if they were still pals in 2017, Jonathan admitted: "We don’t really get to speak very often but that’s the nature of it.

"You don’t really get the time to speak to your friends, my family comes everywhere with me and they’re my longevity."

Jonathan and Charlotte recorded their first album, Together, in 2012 for Simon Cowell’s label Syco.

Their second album, Perhaps Love, was released a year later in October 2013.

The pair went their separate ways in 2014 after they were both offered solo record deals by Sony Deals.
