Bradley Walsh in fits at The Chase contestant's 'brain fart' response to Coronation Street question

September 2, 2021

THE CHASE’s Bradley Walsh couldn’t help but crack up laughing after an epic error involving a Coronation Street staple.

On Wednesday’s episode of the quiz fave, the four hopefuls were put up against Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegarty in a bid to win some serious cash.

But one hopeful – Kieran – found himself the butt of the joke when he slipped up during the final chase.

When asked “Which pub serves Betty’s Hot-Pot?” the pressure got the better of him and he forgot it was the signature dish of Coronation Street’s Rovers Return.

Instead, he panicked, blurting out ‘Wetherspoons’.

Getting the giggles, Bradley said: “Wetherspoons… I love it!”

Even Anne couldn’t help but snigger at the moment, later trying to make him feel better as she told him: “Everyone is entitled to a bit of a brain fart now and again.”

Unfortunately, the slip-up proved costly, and at the end of the episode Anne was able to work her magic and catch up with the players, eradicating their £15,000 prize fund.

As Bradley signed off, he couldn’t help but make one last dig, and declared: “Now do you know the difference between Wetherspoons and the Rovers Return? Then come and have a go!”

The error comes just one day after the show saw one of the biggest wins in the show’s history – with a 20-year-old defeating Darragh ‘The Menace’ Ennis and taking home £75,000.

It was the biggest solo win on a TV series ever.

The Chase airs on weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
