Billy’s new ‘bad boy’ love interest revealed – and Corrie fans will be shockedDecember 18, 2018
Vicar Billy Mayhew will finally be moving on from ex-boyfriend Todd Grimshaw – and he’ll be setting his eyes on yet another bad boy.
The vicar is set to embark on a new romance with Gemma Winter’s naughty twin brother Paul Foreman, who will soon be rocking up in Coronation Street.
Soap boss Iain MacLeod has promised that viewers can look forward to a lot of ‘sexual tension’ between the unlikely couple.
Fans will remember Paul , played by actor Peter Ash, as David Platt’s cellmate, whoshared a cell together six months ago.
While struggling to cope in prison, David ended up lashing out at Paul.
Describing Paul as a "rough diamond", Iain teased that he would "bring so much fun" to the soap.
He also said that the dynamic between Gemma and Paul would be "brilliant".
"He’s like a male Gemma with even fewer of the rough edges smoothed," Iain explained. "He’s quite sexually forward, shall we say, as vicar Billy will quickly realise during Paul’s stay on the street.
"And they will go on to be a really interesting, sexy couple for us. It’s an iteration of the vicar with the bad boy but Paul will bring so much fun and trouble to Billy’s life in a lighthearted way."
He also teased that Paul will have a big part to play in Gemma’s upcoming storylines.
We can’t wait!
