Ben Shephard baffled as Joe Swash gets ‘easy’ question wrong on Tipping PointDecember 24, 2020
Ben Shephard was perplexed as Joe Swash suffered an embarrassing error during Thursday's festive Tipping Point: Lucky Stars.
The TV presenter and actor, 38, failed to identify the type of nut referenced in Nat King Cole's The Christmas Song.
When Shephard asked for the name of the nut, Joe Swash quickly buzzed in and exclaimed: "Cracked nuts?"
Ben went into hysterics as Joe's fellow Tipping Point celebrities, Clare Balding and Sherrie Hewson, also giggled.
Joe was left red-faced as he said: "I meant chestnut you know I did Ben!"
Ben tweeted a clip of the hilarious moment and said: "Cracked nut @realjoeswash???"
The former EastEnders actor was sadly the first celebrity to be kicked out of the competition, but he still took home the money he'd made for charity.
Clare Balding was the lucky player to make it to the final round, so she was in with the chance of winning the hugely sought after £20,000 jackpot.
The presenter and journalist did incredibly well as she managed to get the jackpot counter near to the edge of the machine after answering just a few questions.
Clare managed to win the astounding £20,000 jackpot with an array of questions and counters to spare.
Balding was thrilled as she remarked: "I never thought that would happen!"
Ben was gobsmacked that Clare achieved the jackpot counter so quickly, as he exclaimed: "Amazing!
"That was a little bit of Balding magic".
Clare won the £20k for her chosen charity, Streetvet, which aims to help homeless people who have dogs.
The organisation provides support for homeless pet owners who cannot afford private veterinary treatment
