BBC Newsreader Huw Edwards has showed off his whopping THREE stone weight loss.

The Welsh broadcasting legend has shed the pounds after taking up boxing.

The 57-year-old has kept his fans up-to-date with his progress on Instagram, sharing pictures where he looks visibly trimmer.

He has revealed that he has kept up the intense boxing, to maintain his weight loss.

Speaking to Daily Mirror he said: "The boxing training is going pretty well. I do my boxing two or three times a week.

"I do TRX too, but only once a week in the park otherwise people will think I am going completely mad."

The telly star lost the weight thanks to intense training sessions with ex-pro boxer Clinton McKenzie.

Huw – who raises five children with his TV producer wife Vicky Flind – says his weight loss has helped him gain a new fan base.

And he's delighted that he's finally being considered a sex symbol.

He said: "I found out that I am even quite popular with the LGBT fans which is astounding."

Huw previously told The Sun: "I feel better than I have for years and it’s great getting so many compliments.”

Huw also revealed his weight loss has made him consider signing up to Strictly.

At the end of last year he told us: "I think I could move a bit more now and I'm lighter on my feet.

"Life is about challenges. So yes, why not, but as yet no one has asked me."
