American Horror Story is a well-known horror anthology which is also known by the abbreviation AHS. The creator of the series, Ryan Murphy, has announced a new spin-off series will be released. American Horror Stories will be the title given to the new anthology series, which will be made up of hour-long episodes.
Like the original series, each episode will be a standalone ghost story and will act as a companion series but a release date is yet to be announced.
A teaser has just been released and it includes an eerie voice teasing a new kind of evil.
Creator Murphy announced the news of American Horror Stories in a post about a zoom call.
He had been speaking with the cast of the original American Horror Story anthology series, and he said: “We reminisced about the good times…when we will start filming the next season of the mothership…and other stuff I cannot print.”
Murphy added: “It was so much fun and I’m glad we caught up. I miss everyone!”
A total of 103 episodes have aired so far in the original series, which has been running since 2011.
Fans have not heard anything of the series since season nine finished airing back in November 2019.
This means they have welcomed the surprise and are already looking forward to the highly anticipated spin-off.
The last series was called 1984 and it was made up of a total of nine episodes which range in length.
The 10th season is set to air this year, however, due to the coronavirus outbreak it is not known when the series will come out.
The producer of the original series revealed on his Instagram a “one hour contained” spinoff of his FX anthology series “American Horror Story” was planned.
The new series is called American Horror Stories, and it is likely to feature some of the main cast from the original series.
The news comes a month after Murphy unveiled the teaser for the 10th series of the original.
Fans were pleased to hear AHS was renewed for another three seasons, meaning it will reach season 13 before the end.

Fans are excited to see one cast member in particular, singing sensation Ariana Grande, who was rumored to appear in season 10.
They took to Twitter to post GIFs and photos of the world-famous pop star, with the words “Ariana is coming”.
Another fan expressed their excitement for the spin-off series, saying: “I actually love this concept, it gives them the chance to go back to previous seasons to show us more.”
The main cast for the spin-off series is yet to be announced, but fans are hoping the singer will get her own episode.
In November 2019, Murphy said some cast members from the original series may return for the upcoming tenth season.
Sarah Paulson later announced she would be returning for a lead role in the 10th series.
Other main stars including Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Lily Rabe and Angelica Ross would be back, along with Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin.
Fans are predicting the new spin-off series will be similar to the popular Netflix show, Black Mirror.
