WWE being sued by DOZENS of wrestling legends over brain damage injuries and head trauma including family of Jimmy Snuka

January 31, 2022

WWE are being sued by dozens of former wrestlers over brain damage and head trauma injuries, including the legendary Jimmy ‘Superfly’ Snuka’s family.

The group, who were part of the sport in the 1980s and 90s, claimed in the US Supreme Court on Wednesday that WWE failed to protect them from repeated head injuries.

The suit was filed in an appeal against the lower court ruling that had dismissed the lawsuits in September 2020, saying that they were frivolous or filed after the statute of limitations had expired.

Associated Press reported around 50 pro wrestlers, including iconic names like Chris ‘King Kong Bundy’ Pallies and Joseph ‘Road Warrior Animal’ Laurinaitis, ‘moved court alleging that WWE knew about the risks of head injuries but did not do enough to shield’ or protect them.

Other stars involved include Harry Masayoshi Fujiwara, Chavo Guerrero Jr, Ahmed Johnson, Earl Hebner, Shane Douglas and Marty Jannetty, according to Bleacher Report.

Fujiwara, Snuka, Pallies and Laurinaitis have all passed away in 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2020 respectively.

Fujiwara and Snuka’s lawyers claimed their clients were diagnosed with chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) after their death.

Pallies and Laurinaitis died of undisclosed causes.

Meanwhile, other plaintiffs in the mega lawsuit claimed to be suffering from dementia and other illnesses.

WWE. created and ran by billionaire Vince McMahon, has denied the allegations made against them.
