BRENTFORD star Bryan Mbeumo has been slammed by fans after his "shocking" and "stupid" dive against Tottenham.

The Bees drew 2-2 with Spurs in the first Premier League match after the World Cup break at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Vitaly Janelt opened the scoring for the hosts after only 15 minutes and Ivan Toney doubled their lead on 54 minutes.

But the North Londoners fought back in the second half and equalised within six minutes thanks to Harry Kane and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

But there was even more drama in the 76th minute when Mbeumo sensationally dived inside Tottenham's area.

The winger found himself in front of Fraser Forster, who went for the ball.

One supporter tweeted: "Cheating to try and win a pen should be made a red card offence.. Shocking by Mbeumo."

Another commented: "Mbeumo should have been scoring there stupid decision to dive."
