UFC champion Daniel Cormier 'should' fight WWE Universal Title holder Brock Lesnar next, says UFC president Dana WhiteJanuary 30, 2022
DANIEL CORMIER should face WWE Universal Title holder Brock Lesnar in the next defence of his heavyweight championship, according to UFC president Dana White.
Cormier took just two rounds to defeat Derrick Lewis on Saturday before calling out The Beast after the fight.
Lesnar, 41, regained the wrestling belt at Crown Jewel on Friday after beating Braun Strowman in Saudi Arabia.
He previously held the UFC strap for almost a year during his time in the octagon before losing it to Cain Velasquez in 2010.
Lesnar did return in 2016 at UFC 200 but was later fined and banned after testing positive for a banned substance but has since expressed his desire to face Cormier.
Now DC has seemingly opened the door to the explosive showdown after his successful defence, saying: “Brock Lesnar, when you come, bring that brand new WWE title. Because I feel like being WWE champion too.”
And White has no problem with Lesnar showing up with the wrestling bringing his belt in to the octagon.
Speaking to ESPN about whether a potential match between 39-year-old Cormier and his fellow veteran was likely, White said: “Should be. I can’t predict anything, but yeah. I have not talked to Brock [tonight] but I haven’t looked at my phone.
