    Barc to Spain

Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta has agreed a deal in principle to join Barcelona at the end of the season.

Azpilicueta's contract is set to expire in June and the Blues are not willing to offer him anything more than a one-year extension due to their policy regarding players older than 30 years old.

The full-back's time at Stamford Bridge is about to come to an end, according to Calciomercato reporter Rudy Galetti.

Manchester United have been linked with moves for Marseille's Boubacar Kamara and West Ham's Decaln Rice – but who would be the better fit at Old Trafford?

The Manchester Evening News describe 22-year-old Kamara as a 'cool head in the middle of the park, often deployed as a deep-lying defensive midfielder.'

He sounds similar to Rice, although the England star has a brilliant knack of driving his team forward too.

    Carr blimey!

Jamie Carragher has hilariously revealed he had just two transfer offers throughout his ENTIRE Liverpool career.

Rangers and Wigan reportedly came knocking but neither were very appealing to the Reds legend.

Carragher told Sky Sports: "I had a couple [of offers] at the end of my career when I couldn't get in the team.

"I think Ally McCoist tried to get me up to Rangers and Roberto Martinez told me he tried to get me to Wigan to play in a back three.

"This was when we worked together afterwards – I wasn't aware of this so whether he was just buttering me up I don't know.

"So it was either SPL or the bottom of the Prem for me – no Spanish giants I can assure you!"

Tottenham and Newcastle are also rumoured to be interested as the January transfer window enters its final week.

But now a move away from PSG looks dead in the water, according to Get French Football News.

It claims the 31-year-old would view his time in Paris as a 'failure' were he to depart this month, having only joined from Liverpool last summer.

    Nat’s enough

Liverpool could be about to lose defender Nat Phillips to mega-rich Newcastle – if reports are to be believed.

The Mail writes the 24-year-old is a January target on Tyneside, where new boss Eddie Howe has cash to burn following the Saudi-led takeover at St James’ Park.

Phillips has featured just three times for the Reds so far this season and has previously spoken of his desire to see more first-team action.

A move from Premier League title-challengers Liverpool to relegation-threatened Newcastle would certainly represent a change of pace.

But it would surely bring the game-time the centre-back craves – likely at a cost of around £15million to the Toon.

    Man Don the move?

Crystal Palace and Valencia are interested in signing Man United outcast Donny van de Beek on loan, according to reports.

The Dutchman is once again out of favour at Old Trafford and has played just seven minutes of Premier League football since Ralf Rangnick's arrival.

Donny van de Beek has been linked with Crystal Palace

Club chiefs remain desperate to see their £39million signing come good in a United shirt.

But Van de Beek himself is desperate for regular game time.

According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Palace and Valencia have both asked to take the attacking midfielder on loan for the remainder of the season.

Despite having hardly picked him, Rangnick is reportedly 'reluctant' to let Van de Beek go this month.

However Palace will 'push' to get a deal over the line.

And Van de Beek is just eager to play.

    Martial law

Anthony Martial has landed in Spain to finalise his loan move to Sevilla.

The Man United striker, 26, has been keen to leave Old Trafford since holding talks with boss Ralf Rangnick about his future earlier this month.

And according to the Daily Mail, Sevilla have offered United the £5million loan fee they're looking for.

Martial has also accepted a wage cut to ensure the move happens.

The Frenchman is now in Seville and will now undergo a medical to complete the loan move.

But his stay on the continent is set to be temporary – there is currently no option for Sevilla to sign him permanently.

That's because Juventus have had a £63million bid for the striker accepted by Fiorentina, report Sky in Italy.

    Saliba ready to quit Arsenal

William Saliba is ‘open’ to staying with Marseille if they qualify for the Champions League.

The Frenchman joined the Gunners from Saint-Etienne for around £27million back in 2019.

After spending a season back on loan at Saint-Etienne in 2019/20, many were expecting the defender to play a part for Arsenal the following campaign.

But by the time the January window rolled around he had still failed to make his debut.

A loan move to Nice followed and he was on the move back to his homeland again last summer to join Marseille.

The 20-year-old has been thriving in Ligue 1 under boss Jorge Sampaoli and has made 26 appearances so far this term.

Now La Provence claims the centre-half is feeling ‘very good’ at the Orange Velodrome and he is willing to make it a permanent switch.

However, it states ‘his condition is that the club qualifies for the Champions’ League’ next season.

    Alli prefers PSG over Toon

PSG and Everton are threatening to wreck Newcastle’s hopes of signing Dele Alli.

The Toon have been trying to sign the Tottenham outcast.

But Spurs are keen on a swap deal with PSG midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.

Alli would also prefer linking up with his old Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino in the French capital – although it is thought ex-Liverpool star Wijnaldum is not enthusiastic about this proposed return to the Premier League.

Everton are also eyeing a shock swoop for Alli after owner Farhad Moshiri boosted their coffers with a further £100m investment this week.

But the Toffees currently being without a manager could put Alli off a permanent switch to Goodison Park.

    Arsenal intent on signing striker

Arsenal reportedly remain desperate to bring in a centre-forward this month with Dusan Vlahovic, Alexander Isak and Dominic Calvert-Lewin all serious options.

The Gunners made bringing Fiorentina striker Vlahohic to the Emirates their No1 priority this winter transfer window.

Though the North London are poised to miss out on his signature with the 21-year-old understood to have agreed personal terms with Juventus.

But according to The Athletic, Arsenal are yet to give up on luring the Serbian international to England.

However should they fail to nab him, the club will redouble their efforts in signing either Everton ace Calvert-Lewin or Real Sociedad marksman Isak.

The news outlet states that Arsenal are aware that landing either player midway through the season will prove difficult as they are both critical to their teams.

They add that Calvert-Lewin would be open to making the move to Arsenal as the chance to link up with the club appeals to him.

A fee of £60million is thought to be enough to land the 11-cap Three Lions star.

    Ronaldo desires Madrid return

Cristiano Ronaldo has instructed agent Jorge Mendes to engineer his return to Real Madrid, reports suggest.

Ronaldo isn’t happy at United who he doubts will secure a top-four finish this season, according to Nacional.

And the possibility of not playing Champions League football has exacerbated Ronaldo’s desire to leave Old Trafford, Nacional claim.

Nacional also allege that the Portuguese superstar misses Madrid and wants Mendes to convey his desire to return to Los Blancos to the club’s president Florentino Perez.

Real fans are said to have no problems with Ronaldo coming back to the club and will ecstatically welcome him with open arms.

This marks a significant increase on his current £30,000-a-week wages.

Further reports suggest that Newcastle made an initial offer of £25million.

    Liverpool dealt Diaz blow

Liverpool’s chances of signing Porto star Luis Diaz this month have taken a massive blow.

And Manchester United may now steal a chase – alongside some of Europe’s biggest sides.

Diaz, 24, has a release clause of £67m yet Liverpool were confident they could lure him away for significantly less.

But SunSport understands that following Porto’s decision to let two key players leave the club already this month, they will not budge unless the release clause is met.

Yet Liverpool are unwilling to take that risk this month, and would rather wait until the summer to assess their options before splashing out on Diaz.

However, their decision to wait could be their downfall with rivals Man United keeping a close eye on one of Europe’s biggest talents.
