Brentford finalising deal for South Korean defender Kim Ji-Soo from Seongnam

Brentford are finalising their £500,000 move for South Korea centre-back Kim Ji-Soo from Seongnam FC. 

The 18-year-old was named in the team of the tournament for the U20 World Cup and has been compared to Kim Min-Jae of Napoli, who is expected to join Bayern Munich next month. 

Kim is due in England this week to sign a four-year contract.

Chelsea will discuss the structure of a £30million deal for Villarreal forward Nicolas Jackson this week.

Talks have accelerated as Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr push to sign Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech and Arsenal continue to negotiate for Kai Havertz, with Bayern Munich in the wings.

Jackson, who has a £30m release clause, has interest from a number of clubs including Aston Villa and Bournemouth, who tried to sign him in January only for a hamstring injury to scupper the move.

Christian Pulisic is struggling to find another Premier League club to match his wages at Chelsea.

Pulisic, 24, is one of several players Chelsea will consider letting to as they start again under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Ideally the American would like to stay in England but other clubs are wary of meeting the winger’s current contract which sees him earn more than £200,000-a-week.

David De Gea’s future at Manchester United is in fresh doubt after the Spanish goalkeeper was left off the club’s list of retained players. 

The on-off saga over De Gea’s contract has taken another twist, and sources confirmed that United are now less optimistic the 32-year-old will stay at Old Trafford.

Mail Sport understands that the framework of a new deal to reduce De Gea’s current £375,000-a-week salary was agreed some time ago, but manager Erik ten Hag is unconvinced about keeping the former Atletico Madrid man as his No.1.
