Man Utd fans hail Zidane exit

Manchester United fans have hailed the club’s "good business" after further details of Zidane Iqbal’s departure were revealed.

Iqbal, 20, drew widespread praise from supporters due to his impressive performances in the club's youth teams.

Fans had begged Erik ten Hag to give Iqbal some minutes in their dead-rubber final Premier League game against Fulham.

However, reports emerged last week suggesting Iqbal was set to depart Old Trafford after a bid of just under £1million from FC Utrecht was accepted.

And the midfielder then confirmed he will be leaving United in an emotional open letter.

Now further details of the deal that took him to Utrecht has emerged – and fans have praised the club for their savviness.

The Dutch side will pay United £850,000 up front for the Iraq international.

However, United have inserted both a 40 per cent resale clause and a buyout one to ensure that they could have first dibs on potentially bringing him back.

Man City see Rice bid rejected

Manchester City have seen their bid for Declan Rice REJECTED by West Ham.

It comes after the club submitted a £90million offer for the 24-year-old.

The bid from the Treble winners remains £10m shy of West Ham's price tag of £100m.

It was structured as £80m plus £10m in add-ons.

The fee exceeds the offer sent by Arsenal – who are also very interested in brining in the England international.

Manchester United are also understood to be monitoring Rice's situation, although they have not submitted any formal proposal.

    Real Madrid hopeful on Mbappe

Real Madrid are hopeful that a deal for Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe could be completed this summer.

That is according to ESPN, who claim that Real remain cautious after missing out on Mbappe last year.

Los Blancos' public position is that their transfer activity has been completed after the signings of Jude Bellingham, Joselu, Fran Garcia and Brahim Díaz.

However, the reality is the Madrid giants need a new centre-forward after Karim Benzema's departure to Al-Ittihad.

Nevertheless, there has been no significant progress since Mbappe announced he would not be exercising an option to extend his PSG contract beyond 2024.

But the striker and Real want to complete a deal, while the French champions don't want to lose the France international for free next year.

Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele, who were on loan at Villarreal and Napoli respectively last season, will almost certainly be shown the exit door.

    Edouard Mendy replacement

Chelsea are lining up a move for AC Milan goalkeeper keeper Mike Maignan.

It leaves manager Mauricio Pochettino with Kepa Arrizabalaga as his only experienced shot-stopper heading into the new season, with Gabriel Slonina yet to feature since moving from the MLS.

According to The Telegraph, Pochettino is happy to head into the 2023/2024 campaign with Kepa as his No1 in between the sticks.

The 29-year-old has been Manchester United’s priority target but his release clause has halted their bid to land him.

Joe Rodon faces a crunch summer as Tottenham and Wales want a say in his next career path, reports SunSport's Phil Cadden.

Rodon made 21 appearances for the French club – but only seven of those came after last November's World Cup.

Rennes did not take up the option of signing the ex-Swansea centre-back in an £18million permanent deal, leaving his club future uncertain as ex-Celtic chief Postecoglou takes over in North London.
