Thursday's racing tips: A couple of big-priced belters to fill your pockets at Chelmsford from Jack Keene
December 6, 2018It's a decent little card at Chelmsford and I reckon I've found the key to feeling some Essex elation.
There's no getting away from it – YUSRA (6.30 Chelmsford) sticks out like a sore thumb.
Three starts so far in novice and maiden company have resulted in a couple of nice performances and she looks well-handicapped off an opening mark of 70.
On her second outing in particular she looked in need of further than seven furlongs, having travelled into the contest well before being slightly outpaced.
Trainer Marco Botti now steps her up to a mile and she could well be better than Class 5 grade in time. Corking young 5lb claimer Ray Dawson takes the ride and she's set for a big run.
Jack Out The Box – Thursday's each-way picks
6.30 CHELMSFORD – Yusra
8.30 CHELMSFORD – Equimou
EQUIMOU (8.30 Chelmsford) has no equal.
Robert Eddery's four-year-old has already had 31 career starts and with eight outings since September, she's clearly as hardy as they come.
A comprehensive win at Salisbury two months ago was followed by two slightly disappointing efforts, but she was running off a 9lb higher mark then and that looked too tough a burden.
The assessor has relented a touch now and she's back down to 84, just 4lb higher than her victory at the Wiltshire track.
On her old form she's still very well treated and if the application of first-time blinkers have a positive effect then she's got to have a big chance.
She showed more when not beaten far at Lingfield last time, so everything's in place for a bold display.
