YOUNEVERCALL (2.48 Kempton)
Kim Bailey has been sending out winners all over the place and this nine-year-old is looking for his third victory in this race.
It’s far from ideal to come back from 506 days off but he’s best when fresh and won a Grade 2 last year off a long break. Indeed, one of his wins in this contest came on the back of seven months away.
We know he likes this trip and track so it would no surprise to see him go very close.
BOND ANGEL (7.35 Southwell)
Southwell is a real horses for courses track as some runners just don’t like the deep fibresand surface.
You can’t say that about Bond Angel who has won two of her three outings over this course and distance.
Her form dipped a little but she’s moved from Marjorie Fife to Scott Dixon and the change in surroundings could help.
She is only 2lb higher than her most recent win and looks a big price if showing anything like her best.
Longshot
BILLY’S ANGEL (3.53 Kempton)
This eight-year-old is having just his second run for Amy Murphy after arriving from Ireland.
He was in winning form at Tipperary two runs ago and wasn’t asked too many questions on his UK debut at Ludlow.
The handicapper has nudged him a little down the weights after that effort and Eddie Edge takes a further 10lb off in the saddle.
That sees him in here off a similar mark to that Tipperary success which came over this distance. He has a visor on for the first time which could help him settle.
If he can show something close to that form he can hit the frame at tasty odds.
