The dynamic duo were joined by Gary Neville and Jill Scott to name a combined XI of Manchester City and United stars as part of coverage ahead of the all-Mancunian FA Cup final.
Richards, boisterous as ever, got the conversation flowing as the quartet moved on to discuss right-backs.
Looking at Neville, the ex-City star declared: "Let's get the elephant out of the room, I was a better right-back than you, Gary."
Neville quipped: "Big elephant that," before Richards doubled down, adding: "I was though weren't I."

However, Keane appeared to be flummoxed by the assertion, before he interjected by saying: "You weren't better than Gary."
The 51-year-old then added: "The quiz is over, now let's get serious. You weren't better than Gary," with the first half of his sentence leaving Richards and Co in hysterics.
After the laughter had subsided, Richards argued he was better than Neville at some things, to which Keane hit back by talking about the full package.
Richards tried to prove his point by saying: "But he was in a great team. I was playing with [Antoine] Sibierski and David Sommeil."

Neville then asked: "Who?" With Richards shouting: "Exactly."
Keane's next zinger proved to be the nail in the coffin for Richards' case, with the Irishman saying: "But they would be saying the same about playing with you."
This joke left the entire panel in hysterics once again.
And it seemed to do the same to viewers, with one fan reacting: "Roy is box office. Just says it how it is. Class."
A second said: "That is brutal from Keane!! 😂😂😂."
"This guy is honestly BOX OFFICE," declared a third.
A fourth replied: "You have to love this guy. Man’s just a natural. Even when he’s badmouthing players for performing poorly, you can easily tell there’s no malice."
A fifth remarked: "I love how Loyal Roy is. He'll slag the s*** out of Gary but if anyone else has a go at Gary he'll back him and stand up for him."
Another typed: "'They'd be saying the same about playing with you', Roy Keane so sharp with the quips."
It was not the only time notorious hardman Keane showed his brighter side during the episode.
He also offered his dry but potent humour when Neville recalled a time he was punished by Sir Alex Ferguson following a poor performance in a 3-1 defeat at Maine Road, City's old ground.
Neville recalled: "He was quite vicious at times, the boss.
"So he sent me out for the second half and suddenly, I think after three or four minutes he subbed me off after half time.
