ENGLAND'S Six Nations dream is all but over as Wales moved a step closer to sealing a dramatic title.

France remain slight favourites but it's still unclear whether the tournament will be able to finish as planned with their participation in doubt.

Maracineanu wants an investigation into the Covid outbreak and has warned France their authorisation to play in the tournament will be revoked if one is not conducted.

She said: "We asked an investigation from the FFR and from (president) Bernard Laporte, who himself came to see us before the tournament to present us the protocol and tell us that everything was going to go well, that the bubble was going to be strictly respected with controlled entries and exits.

"Now that we can see that this is not the case, I am waiting for him to come and explain to us what has happened.

"If nothing happens, if we don't look into this chain of contaminations and they don't explain to us how it could happen, then the authorisation that has been given (to play in the Six Nations) can be withdrawn."

Eddie Jones meanwhile was angered with the refereeing decisions that led to Wales' 40-24 victory but stressed his players now had to dig in against France to recover some pride.

He said: "It's going to be almost impossible for us to win the championship now so we just have to approach France as another opportunity for us to get back on the front foot.

"We will dig in. It's the only thing we have got to do now, dig in. It is a great challenge for the team."
