SHAKIRA had a nickname for Gerard Pique's new girlfriend Clara Chia, it has been revealed.

The Colombian singer met 23-year-old Clara Chia Marti at the Kosmos company where she was hired as an intern.

And now it has been revealed that Shakira was left in shock when she later discovered her husband's affair with the PR student.

Speaking to the TV show Mitre Live journalist Roberto Antolin said: "It was a total surprise.

"That's why it hurt her so much, because she already knew her, and she called her 'little dead fly.'"

"Little dead fly" (mosquita muerta) is a Spanish expression used to describe someone innocent, someone above suspicion.

The journalist continued: "Clara Chia was a person who went unnoticed.

"Shakira never saw her as a danger, because she is not a stunning woman, she is a rather normal girl".

Antolin noted that the singer never had any reason to suspect the 23-year-old as she was always nice to her whenever she visited Pique at the company's offices.

"She behaved very well with Shakira. She was a 'dead fly': she spoke little, she was tremendously educated, she was an intern, they made little noise," he said.

He also noted that Clara Chia would have given Pique an ultimatum when their relationship started.

He added: "When the relationship with Chía begins, she dots her i's and tells him: 'I'm not going to be one more, nor one more affair or one more infidelity.

'If you want to be with me, go out and say that you are no longer with Shakira'".

The ex-Barca star and Shakira made the bombshell announcement back in June after 12 years together.

The artist reportedly discovered Pique's infidelity after finding a jar of her strawberry jam had been eaten.

It's been claimed that Pique follows a strict diet and would not have tucked into the jam – and neither would her children.

The former pair went through a dramatic divorce and were embroiled in a bitter row over the custody of their children and their £12m mansion.

The ex-couple eventually agreed Shakira would move to Miami with her sons with Pique being allowed to visit them for ten days a month.

The ex-couple also agreed to sell their five-storey Barcelona property.

Shakira has taken a swipe at Pique and Clara Chia in her latest hit Shakira Bzrp Music Sessions 53, singing "I'm worth two 22-year-olds. You traded in a Ferrari for a Twingo, you traded in a Rolex for a Casio."

The football ace has gone Instagram official with his new girlfriend,  even though they were forced into hiding, to avoid the backlash following the release of Shakira's diss track.
