Rhyno announces retirement after WWE legend is fired on Monday Night Raw
December 4, 2018The 43-year-old hardcore icon was fired by acting general manager Baron Corbin after the veteran was forced to compete against his partner Heath Slater.
The two were ordered to face off by the annoying GM with a stipulation being the loser would lose their job.
Slater won the match – but Corbin would later state the “One Man Band” would be staying as a referee rather than a wrestler.
But the shock axing led to the loser Rhyno, who shot to stardom as part of ECW in the late 90s, to announce he was retiring to the live audience during the commercial break that followed.
It now looks like his twenty-plus-year career is over.
Rhyno held both ECW’s World Heavyweight and TV Championships as well as the NWA World Title and WWE’s Hardcore Championship.
He and Slater also became the inaugural SmackDown Live tag-team champions in 2016.
