MARK Johnston is the Mon to follow in the Ces.

His MONDAIN likes to get on with it and was impressive when scoring at Ayr last time. This trip is ideal and he has major claims with Andrea Atzeni on board.

Willie Mullins is going for three wins on the bounce and his Great White Shark will be trained to the minute. She is well used to the hustle and bustle of a big field.

Youngster Coltrane has the modest record of three-year-olds against him but impressed at York and has the champion jockey on board.

Not So Sleepy and Leoncavallo are others with a big say in a typically tough Ces.

SUMMER MOON 3

MOON shot. Third last year from 9lb lower and in good form again after a gutsy win at York last time. Stays all day, handles soft and should run well despite hefty weight.

CLEONTE 2

CARRY on Cleo. Third two years ago and won marathon Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot in 2019 so stays. Looked very rusty on first run for a year last time and needs to step up.

ALRIGHT SUNSHINE 2

SUN down. Solid stayer at lower level and fair ninth in the Ebor last time. Likes it soft but needs much more.

ROCK EAGLE 3

ROCK on. Winner over shorter and looked a stayer when third at Salisbury over 1m6f, running on. On fair mark and potential improver.

RESHOUN 2

NOT des Res. Solid two-miler who won at Newbury in July but has struggled on both starts since. On fair mark but must bounce back.

DIOCLETIAN 2

DI cast. Doesn’t win often but solid effort over 1m6f at Haydock last time and will like this ground. Upped in class so needs more.

ISLAND BRAVE 2

BRAVE pick. Stays 2m well but best form has come on fast ground and has not won off this high mark before.

NOT SO SLEEPY 4

SLEEPY awake. Quality hurdler who won with lots in hand returned to the Flat at Pontefract. Likes it soft and every chance under a 4lb penalty.

INDIANAPOLIS 3

IN the hunt. Booking of Frankie catches the eye and clocked personal best over 2m at York in August. Goes on any ground, each-way shout.

FUTURE INVESTMENT 3

FAIR Investment. Lightly-raced and won over 2m at Chester before another solid run at Haydock. Some cut suits and has few miles on the clock.

DALTON HIGHWAY 3

HIGH hope. From high-class trainer and won big handicap over 2m at The Curragh in June. Two quiet runs since but trained for this and on shortlist.

COEUR DE LION 3

LION heart. Won Ascot Stakes over 2m4f and loves a real battle. Only 3lb higher today and will be staying on at the finish.

RAJINSKY 2

PIE in Sky. Good second over 2m at York before bad trip at Haydock last time. Looks on fair weight but all wins in lesser grades.

WHIRLING DERVISH 1

DON’T give a Whirl. Improving hurdler but has modest form on the Flat and looks too high in the weights.

AUSTRALIS 2

MISS Lis. All wins have been on AW and was a good second in the Northumberland Plate which is strong form. Not the same horse on turf so far.

JUST HUBERT 3

JUST fair. Won over 2m4f at Glorious Goodwood and good second there last time. Stays all day and solid each-way shout.

MONDAIN 5

TOP Mon. Improved to win over 2m1f at Ayr after going close on the July course here. More to offer as a stayer and 4lb penalty is fair.

JUKEBOX JIVE 2

JIVE talk. Won off 8lb lower on last Flat run in November but has been off since a poor hurdles effort in December so should need this.

BLUE LAUREATE 1

FEEL Blue. Has shown little including when down the field at York last time and looks outclassed.

LYNWOOD GOLD 3

GOLD star. From top yard and has solid form in Ireland including when winning over 1m6f at The Curragh off 5lb lower. Has won here so can’t be ignored.

SMART CHAMPION 2

NOT Smart. Consistent at lower levels and stays well including when fourth in Ces trial. This is tougher.

COLTRANE 4

TRANE has engine. Landed hat-trick at York after scoring on July course. Goes on any ground, has champ on board and has more to come despite modest record of 3yos.

ARTHURIAN FABLE 3

ART attack. Solid form over shorter with cracking second in Melrose at York. Flopped last time but capable of better.

AUTHOR’S DREAM 2

DREAM on. Proper stayer who has had lots of success in lower grades including last time. This is much tougher.

GREAT WHITE SHARK 4

SHARK has bite. Trainer Willie Mullins is going for a Ces hat-trick with top-class hurdler who was third in Martin Pipe at the Festival. Has very little weight, will stay and has been trained for this.

TRUE DESTINY 2

TRUE false. Some solid form over 2m in lower classes but is 7lb higher than last win so needs a lot more.

MUKHA MAGIC 1

MAGIC trick. Best form has come on AW at Southwell in minor contests. Shouldn’t be up to this level.

VIS A VIS 2

VIS not biz. Was third in this two years ago from 7lb higher but has looked very rusty after long break on both starts this season.

LEONCAVALLO 4

CAV a go. Won well over 1m6f at Haydock last time when staying well. This is tougher but is lightly raced on Flat so could improve.

LEVER DU SOLEIL 1

LEVER out. Spends most time jumping and all Flat form has been at low levels. Hard to fancy in this grade.

MUTADAFFEQ 2

MUT barking. Won well over 2m on last Flat outing at The Curragh in June. Struggled over jumps since but on fair weight and will stay.

TAKARENGO 2

TAKE Tak. Modest form over shorter trips in Ireland and still 5lb higher than last win. Needs more rain and looks held.

GOLD ARCH 2

WEAK Arch. Stays well but all wins have come on AW and doesn’t look up to this level.

MR CHUA 2

NO Mister. This marathon should be ideal and he’s in good form but hasn’t been pitched in this high before.
