More from Postecoglou on Kane
He added: "I don't think it is my role to sit there and sort of treat people in a manner because of their circumstances.
"I am big on treating everyone the same.
"Harry is already part of the history of this club and I want him involved here. My conversation with him will be about how we can make this club successful and that is what he wants as well.
"I doubt it will be defining in the manner people think.
"I want to introduce myself to Harry, give him my vision, get an understanding from him over what his vision is and try to be successful."

Postecoglou: “No assurances over Kane”
Ange Postecoglou has revealed he does not know what Manchester United transfer target Harry Kane’s future but insisted the striker is “looking forward” to returning to training.
He said: “No, I haven’t had any assurances and I wouldn’t expect any assurances because with these kind of things you’re never dealing in definites or certainties.
“I’m trying to concentrate on the things that I know right now, and what I know right now is that Harry’s part of this squad. He’s looking forward to coming back to training, getting amongst the players back in here and we start working together.
“If I spend too much time worrying about the impact that it may have either way, I’m going to miss trying to build a team because ultimately that’s what’s going to make us successful. If we build a team that plays football a certain way. I’m not going to miss this initial opportunity to lay down what I know is going to be important in the long term.
“What’s important in the long term goes beyond individuals. It’s more about overriding philosophy on who we want to be as a team and the key people within that.”

More from Yorke on Rashford
He added: "I could see Marcus Rashford compete for the Ballon d'Or, why not?
"If I were in his position, that would be the aim now that Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are out of the equation.
"Rashford will want to be closer to Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland, they are his competitors and rivals.
"Neymar is still there, but I'd focus on competing with Mbappe and Haaland because they'll be the best players in the world for the next few years, so I'd keep an eye on them if I was him.
"Rashford has the platform, he plays for Man United and he's English, it doesn't get much better than that, it's down to him as an individual."

Rashford deal 'better than new signing'
Yorke also argued that Marcus Rashford signing a new contract at Manchester United is the best business the club could do this summer.
He said: "Extending Marcus Rashford's contract at Man United is better than any new signing, 100%.
"The boy has talent, I'm his biggest fan and he's proved his doubters wrong.
"As long as Rashford is focused and happy, obviously doesn't get ahead of himself, but keeps his focus then he'll always perform.
"I'm sure Rashford will want to be a Man United legend, but it takes a lot of work to get into that category because of the number of players who spent years winning trophies at the club."

United 'need to move for Kane'
Dwight Yorke has argued that Manchester United need to move for Harry Kane quickly before he joins Bayern Munich.
Yorke was speaking to BoyleSports, who offer the latest Premier League odds here: "If Harry Kane goes to Bayern Munich, it does concern me with the striker situation at Man United.
"The striker position is probably the main reason that stopped us from getting close to Man City in the end.
"You can't play the game without a real number nine, even with Pep Guardiola's false nine before, the striker position is very traditional in the Premier League.
"With the Kane scenario, we should have spent £150m on Erling Haaland when we had the chance under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but we spent money on other players in different positions.
"I'm not saying to go and spend £150m on Kane but Man United should act like the big club they are and go make the deal happen. Bayern Munich is a huge club, so Man United will have to do what's necessary to bring Kane in, we know what he brings to the table, it's priceless."
