Good morning Man Utd fans
Manchester United defeated Tottenham 2-0 in a crucial clash at Old Trafford.
Fred opened the scoring just two minutes into the second half when his effort picked a deflection off Spurs’ Ben Davies.
Bruno Fernandes sealed the three points for the hosts on 69 minutes.
Fred’s shot hit Eric Dier and deflected to the path of Fernandes who beat Tottenham keeper Hugo Lloris with a fine strike.
Meanwhile, PSV Eindhoven star Cody Gakpo has reopened the door for a potential move to United after revealing he held talks with the club in the summer.
Gakpo revealed he was “close” to a move to Old Trafford after transfer talks with Red Devils’ boss Erik ten Hag and confirmed he would "consider" a switch.
The winger told The Times: “I was close to leaving, I spoke to Erik ten Hag a few times at Manchester United.
“In the end the deal didn’t go through, which was a shame, for me and my development, and because Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world, but also for PSV, because to transfer a player to Manchester United is a good thing for the club.
“It ended about a week before the end of the transfer window and in that week I had to decide if I would go to Leeds or Southampton. In the end I stayed, but it was a stressful period.”
Gakpo added: “I always said if I stay here, it’s my childhood club. It’s not a punishment. I like being here, I want to win trophies here and do my best for the club.
“But if I got the chance to go to the Premier League or something, of course I would have to consider that option. At that time it was hectic for me but I recovered pretty quickly.”
And United Ten Hag will try to get club chiefs to pursue Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong again in January.
The Red Devils spent the summer chasing De Jong, 25, and even agreed a £72million deal with Barca.
However, the midfielder rejected the move and stayed put at the Camp Nou, despite a row with the Catalans over £17m of unpaid wages.
But according to Sport, the Netherlands international’s former Ajax boss has asked the Red Devils to go back in for him in the New Year.
Finally, United will not decide on David de Gea's future until the winter, claims Ten Hag.
De Gea's contract runs out in June but the Manchester giants have the option to extend for an additional year.
Ten Hag said: "We didn’t make a decision on him but what I can say is that I am really happy with David de Gea as a keeper.
"His first two performances of the season were not his best performances but after you see he brings us a lot for the defensive department, gives stability.
"And, as a person, I like him, I can really cooperate with him really well but first we go to the winter and then we will talk about how [to] deal with such situations.
"In this moment we only think about performing, we have a lot of games to go, so I don’t want to get that interfered by talks, we have to focus on football and performances, not on negotiating. That’s what we have to do now."

Manchester United and Tottenham are goalless at Old Trafford.
United boss Erik ten Hag will be pleased with the performance but not the output.
The Red Devils have caused Spurs problems and had them pinned back in their own half for large portions of the game.
Hugo Lloris has made some good saves to keep the scores level and Marcus Rashford has been quiet

Room for improvement
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag believes results will improve once Cristiano Ronaldo and Anthony Martial become consistently available.
Ten Hag said: "We had to deal with problems offensively from the start: Cristiano Ronaldo was unavailable, Anthony Martial was not on the pitch and didn’t play a full game until now.
"I’m sure when that is better, with two No9s present and fit in a good, combative shape, the results from the team will improve.
"I’m a person that is never satisfied. I am happy to be here but I’m not satisfied where we are but I also know that I’m impatient. I think good is not good enough, we have to do better.
"I see many things that can go better but I also see improvement so when we keep going with this progress we’ll improve more and I will be even happier"

Neil no more
Manchester United's Europa League opponents Omonia Nicosia have given Neil Lennon the chop.
That is just days after Omonia almost stunned United at Old Trafford last week.
Lennon and Co were minutes away from earning a point against the Red Devils until an injury-time goal from Scott McTominay led to a 1-0 victory for the hosts.
But performances have not lived up to expectations domestically and the ex-Celtic boss has been axed after seven months in charge and following a 1-0 home defeat to Nea Salamis at the weekend.
The result left the Cypriot Cup winners seventh in the First Division, having won three and lost four of their seven league games this season

Phil Neville future
Manchester United legend and Inter Miami boss Phil Neville hopes to find out this week about his MLS future as he and all of his backroom staff are out of contract at the end of the season.
After crashing out of the play-offs in the first round against reigning champs New York City FC on Monday, owner and Neville's former team-mate David Beckham has a big decision to make.
The ormer Lionesses manager is desperate to stay in south Florida and knew getting to the play-offs was a minimum requirement for Beckham.
But he has been worried about his situation for a while now and wants talks with Becks immediately

More from Merson
Paul Merson believes Manchester United will lose touch with the teams above them in the table if they don't beat Tottenham.
Merson added: "If United don't win this game, they take a draw and a defeat on their trip away to Chelsea. They're facing two of the top four in their next two Premier League games, and it's a massive week for them.
"Liverpool could go bang-bang-bang for their nine points, and United could find themselves behind Liverpool by the end of the week. Manchester United have the hardest set of games out of everybody this week.
"This is a must-win game for Manchester United, and I don't think that is the case for Tottenham. Antonio Conte will want to make sure his team doesn't lose this match, and he'll be the happier of the two managers with a draw"

Sealed with a Cris
Manchester United should drop Jadon Sancho and start Cristiano Ronaldo against Tottenham on Wednesday, according to Paul Merson.
Merson wrote in his column for Sportskeeda: "I think Cristiano Ronaldo will play this game.
"I only say that because I know that Tottenham will play everybody behind the ball.
"Manchester United will need to put balls into the box, and Ronaldo is the best header of the ball in the world.
"'I'd leave Jadon Sancho out this week and play Ronaldo, [Marcus] Rashford, and Antony up front"

Right 'n Ron
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has "no problem" with Cristiano Ronaldo getting the hump at being subbed as long as he does not overdo it.
Ronaldo shook his head and muttered to himself as he was hooked in the 72nd minute for Marcus Rashford in Sunday’s goalless draw against Newcastle.
Ten Hag said: “I think no player is happy when he comes off, especially not Ronaldo. I understand that. As long as it’s in a quiet, normal way, no problem with that.
“Of course, he is convinced he should stay on and should score a goal, that is why he’s that good”

More from Ferdinand
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand praised Arsenal star Bukayo Saka and predicted he will be a starter for England in the 2022 World Cup.
Ferdinand added: "I think in an England shirt he does well. He's a winger who, when he gets it, I've watched him a couple of times live as well this year, his first instinct and intention is to go past you.
"We spoke to Nani and he told us that was his intention. As soon as he got the ball one-versus-one, he was looking to beat the full-back. I love that about him, he's got no fear, he's playing with a bit more maturity every time I see him.
"He is in a good vein of form with a club that's in a good vein of form. He's confident and if he's in that mode going into the World Cup I don't see anyone starting in front of him."

Need Fer change
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has criticised Jadon Sancho and Antony for failing to "kill full-backs" and advised them to emulate Arsenal ace Bukayo Saka.
Ferdinandsaid on his YouTube channel FIVE: "We don't seem to have the imagination in those areas.
"We used to give it to Nani, Giggsy [Ryan Giggs], to Becks [David Beckham] even, give it to Antonio Valencia or Cristiano [Ronaldo] when they're wide.
"Get him in a one-on-one situation, either with a good ball from [Paul] Scholes or [Michael] Carrick etc, get them one-versus-one and do your thing.
"At the moment we get in those positions and unfortunately for us, our wide players are turning away from that, they're not killing full-backs, they're not skinning them.
"The best teams, the winners, get teams one-versus-one, they wait for that moment in the game. They might only get two or three moments in a game where they stand that full-back up one-versus-one.
"Saka does it as well as anyone at the moment in the league. They get the full-back one-versus-one and they say, 'right, I'm going to ghost you'. At the moment, our wide players aren't doing that"

More from Sheringham
Manchester United and Tottenham legend Teddy Sheringham thinks Harry Kane is happy in North London.
And the legendary striker believes there is probably no reason for Kane to leave amid reported interest from United.
Sheringham added: "Harry looks very happy to me. He obviously had a wobble at the start of last season when he thought he might be leaving the club, and you could see he was unnerved by all that.
"He’s in good shape at the moment, has the World Cup coming up, he’s scoring goals, so he’s in fine fettle so I don’t see why he would be thinking about leaving"

Harry up man
Manchester United should splash the cash on trying to sign Harry Kane, according to ex-Red Devils and Tottenham star Teddy Sheringham.
Sheringham told Gambling: "If they’re going to go out and break the bank for someone, go out and get Harry Kane.
"He’s the type of centre-forward they lack, a proper professional, he leads the line and you’ll always get 100% out of him.
"He’s a proper player, so go break the bank for him. I know that’s going to upset the Tottenham fans but we’re talking about Manchester United, one of the biggest clubs in the world.
"They should be doing this sort of thing instead of spending money on players who only might do the job for you"

Ronaldo worst Ballon d'Or finish
Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo suffered his worst ever Ballon d'Or ranking.
Ronaldo is a five-time winner of the prestigious award, first picking it up back in 2008 with United.
Last year saw the star forward finish sixth, which at the time was his lowest ever position.
But the Portugal skipper has plummeted to new depths after a questionable start to the season and ultimately finished 20th

Gakpo considers Man Utd
PSV Eindhoven star Cody Gakpo has reopened the door for a potential move to Manchester United after revealing he held talks with the club in the summer.
Gakpo revealed he was “close” to a switch to Old Trafford after transfer talks with United boss Erik ten Hag and confirmed he would "consider" a move to the Red Devils.
Gakpo told The Times: “I was close to leaving, I spoke to Erik ten Hag a few times at Manchester United.

Take Smalling to Qatar, says Mourinho
Jose Mourinho believes that ex-Man Utd man Chris Smalling should be part of Gareth Southgate’s England squad.
The defender is currently playing under the Portuguese manager for Roma in Serie A and is a regular in the starting XI.
Smalling has not represented the Three Lions since 2017 and has not been picked by Southgate for either of the last two tournaments.
But Mourinho said: “He was taught to play in a two-man defence in Manchester, but now he’s got the perfect acumen to play in a three-man backline.
“If I were the coach of a national team, I would do anything to have someone like him at my disposal.
“I don’t think it’s a lack of respect to Gareth Southgate when I say that I feel very sorry for a player who’s playing at such a high level like Smalling and who won’t get the opportunity he deserves.”

Both sets of team news ahead of tonight
The Manchester United medical staff are in for another busy week assessing a number of players.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Brandon Williams, Axel Tuanzebe, Anthony Martial, Donny Van de Beek and Phil Jones will need to be treated as they all missed out on the Newcastle draw.
However, Erik Ten Hag will be hoping to welcome Christian Eriksen having suffered a minor sickness.
And Scott McTominay should be available again after serving a suspension for an accumulation of five yellow cards.
Elsewhere, Antonio Conte has a few problems of his own as Dejan Kulusevski is unlikely to return and Richarlison now out of action with a calf injury.
Emerson Royale is set to serve the final part of his three-match ban suspension picked up in the 3-1 defeat to bitter rivals Arsenal.
