FORMER UFC fighter Maiquel Falcao has died aged 40 after reportedly being stabbed.
The Brazilian MMA star was attacked in his hometown of Pelotas this morning, MMA Fighting claims.
Falcao is believed to have been stabbed multiple times in the stomach.
The shocking incident occurred in a bar and he was rushed to hospital around 3am.
Local police have now confirmed that they are investigating the case.
Falcao competed in the cage for nearly two decades for promotions all over the planet.
In nearly two decades as a pro fighter, Falcao compiled a 40-20 record with one no-contest.
He fought once in UFC, defeating Gerald Harris by decision in 2010.

The South American was then released by Dana White’s promotion after it emerged he had been arrested previously for allegedly assaulting a woman outside a nightclub.
Nicknamed ‘Big Ron’, he would go on to sign for Bellator two years later and won a middleweight grand prix.
However, he came up short in a fight with Alexander Shlemenko for the vacant 185-pound championship.
Falcao was then axed by Bellator over his involvement in a street fight and after allegedly assaulting a woman in a gas station.
He then embarked on a nomadic journey across the globe as he competed for the likes of KSW, M-1 Global and Fight Nights Global.
