Liverpool 'scouted Erling Haaland vs Turkey'… but were more impressed by keeper who stopped Norway sensation scoringMarch 28, 2021
LIVERPOOL are preparing to make a bid after watching Norway's 3-0 defeat to Turkey, according to reports.
But it is believed the Premier League champions are interested in signing goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir and NOT Erling Haaland.
According to the Daily Express, Liverpool scouts watched the World Cup Qualifier yesterday.
They are said to have been impressed with Cakir's performance as he stopped Haaland from scoring.
The 20-year-old has scored 21 Bundesliga goals in as many games this season and has been linked with several clubs.
Liverpool have been rumoured with the Turkish goalkeeper before and are believed to want him as back-up for Alisson Becker.
Chelsea have also been linked with the 24-year-old and were reportedly close to signing him last summer.
The Blues went for Edouard Mendy instead, who has been an excellent addition to their squad.

Two goals from Fenerbahce's Ozan Tufan and one from Leicester defender Caglar Soyuncu was enough to give Turkey all three points in Norway.
If Liverpool do pursue Haaland, it is believed he will cost £154million this summer.
Borussia Dortmund may be keen to sell the striker before his £65m release clause kicks in next summer.
The Reds have also been linked with PSV Eindhoven ace Donyell Malen and are believed to be leading the race to sign him.
