LeBron James has sung the praises of Lonzo Ball all season. The duo gave us a glimpse Saturday night of how good the Los Angeles Lakers can be when both are clicking together.
James and Ball each notched a triple-double in the Lakers' 128-100 rout of the Charlotte Hornets, the first teammates with a triple-double in the same game since Jason Kidd and Vince Carter did it for the New Jersey Nets on April 7, 2007. They are the first Lakers teammates to accomplish the feat since Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on Jan. 22, 1982.
James had team-highs with 24 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists in just three quarters of work. He headed to the bench for good in the closing minute of the third as the Lakers pushed their lead to 30. Ball finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, hitting the mark on his 10th rebound with seven minutes left in the fourth. He exited shortly after.
