Landon Donovan to be part of consortium taking over Swansea CityJanuary 31, 2022
FORMER Everton ace Landon Donovan is to invest in Swansea City and will become part of the consortium buying the club, according to reports.
ESPN have reported that Donovan — a former team-mate of David Beckham at LA Galaxy — will join the American-based ownership group, led by Jason Levien and Steve Kaplan.
The pair do have some sporting pedigree. Levien is the managing general partner of Major League Soccer club D.C. United, while Kaplan is the executive vice-chairman of the Memphis Grizzlies of the NBA.
Sources claim Donovan will become an adviser to Kaplan and Levien on football decision-making as well as the club's commercial matters as part of the arrangement.

Donovan hung up his boots in 2014, after guiding LA Galaxy to their fourth Major League Soccer Cup triumph.
