Kane will be fit for huge clashes against Chelsea and Arsenal in boost for Tottenham title bid, reveals PochettinoFebruary 8, 2019
England captain Kane had been ruled out until the middle of March after suffering an ankle ligament injury in the defeat to Manchester United.
But Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino says his star player will now only miss one more match before making his comeback in the trip to Burnley on February 23.
And that means he will be back in time for the huge clashes against Chelsea and Arsenal that follow.
Kane, 25, has already resumed outdoor training and Pochettino said: "Harry is nearly ready to play."
The club's top scorer with ten goals is not fit enough to be involved in the crucial home match against Leicester on Sunday.
Spurs then enjoy a week off because of the FA Cup, and their next fixture is the trip to Turf Moor when the 10-goal forward is expected to be back in the starting line-up
Pochettino said: “Now he is here, he is doing well, he is doing fantastic.
"You know very well we need to stop him every day because he wants to be ahead of his recovery. He’s very optimistic and determined to play as soon as possible – he’s unbelievable but he’s doing well.
“If you see him he’s nearly ready to play but we need to be realistic too and of course in between all the areas to take the best decision.
“He’s so close to come back again. Not for Sunday, not for Wednesday but we will see after.
“Burnley? Maybe, maybe.”
The crucial match away to Chelsea follows four days later, by which time Pochettino will hope he is already back up to full speed after his lay-off.
Then comes the North London derby against Arsenal on March 2 – which could be the last home match Spurs play at Wembley if all goes to plan with their new stadium.
Spurs announced this week that their new ground will not have the required safety certificates to stage the Arsenal match, but they do hope to be in by the next home fixture against Crystal Palace.
Kane will be looking to keep up his excellent scoring record against Arsenal which has seen him notch eight times against Tottenham's big rivals.
