Jesse Lingard 'set for Serie A transfer with four giants keen' but Man Utd star 'wants Premier League stay'

May 13, 2022

MANCHESTER UNITED ace Jesse Lingard has been linked with four Serie A giants ahead of the summer transfer window, reports suggest.

However, Lingard, who is set to leave United in June when his contract expires, prefers to stay in the Premier League.

That is according to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, who reports that AC Milan, Juventus, Inter Milan and Roma are keeping tabs on the versatile midfielder.

The England international would rather stay in the Prem but a move to Italy appears likelier.

Galetti tweeted: "Despite his preference to stay in the #EPL, it looks like Jessie [sic] #Lingard's next destination may be really Italy.

"[AC Milan] and [Juventus] – but also [Inter Milan] and [ASRoma] – are interested in the player."

Lingard has been left frustrated with the lack of opportunities at Old Trafford and is set to leave at the end of the season.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to Newcastle but he reportedly scared them off with his financial demands.

It has been claimed that the United ace wants in excess of £150,000-a-week at his next club.

The Magpies, who are in no way strapped for cash after their Saudi-led takeover, fear that would break their wage structure with Bruno Guimaraes currently their highest paid player on £120,000-a-week.

West Ham could also try and bring the United academy graduate back to London Stadium, where he remains popular after last season's successful spell.

Lingard will leave the Red Devils after a total of 35 goals and 21 assists in 232 appearances across all competitions.
