Glenn Hoddle has no regrets over appointing faith healer Eileen Drewery to treat England playersOctober 11, 2021
GLENN HODDLE still believes he was right to get faith healer Eileen Drewery to treat his England players.
His decision sparked controversy and derision during his reign as Three Lions boss from 1996-99.
But Hoddle said: “I first saw Eileen when I was 17 and she helped me with an injury.
"I had seen what she had done with other players.
“And I thought what we did for my father was incredible.
“Within 20 minutes she healed the bad back of his that he had for blooming donkey’s years.
“In a way I looked on her as an extension of the new medical staff.”
Not everyone was as open to Drewery’s methods.

When she placed her hands on Ray Parlour’s head the former Arsenal star quipped “I’ll have a short back and sides.”
Parlour hardly played for England again.
But Hoddle has no regrets about bringing in the healer.
He said: “Every manager wants their players fit.
"My objective was to win the World Cup and you need your best players on the pitch.”
