From Van Dijk and Solskjaer to Neymar and Ronaldinho, footballers whose luxury mansions belonged to fellow prosMarch 6, 2019
The same players move from club to club and, quite often, their luxurious multi-million pound mansions are snapped up by replacements.
As SunSport revealed yesterday, Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk is renting Man United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's £4million, five-bedroom property in Cheshire.
And, here, we take a look at other footballers and managers who have moved into the home of one of their colleagues.
Meet the Neybour
Brazilian superstar Neymar wasted no time in finding a stunning Parisian property after his £198m world-record move to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017.
The five-storey mansion, which costs an incredible £12,800 a month in rent, was once owned by former PSG and Brazil star Ronaldinho.
Neymar's 10,800 square-foot pad comes complete with a giant indoor swimming pool, sauna and Turkish bath.
Legendary French actor Gerard Depardieu is another former owner of the giant property.
When Gareth Bale made his then-world-record move to Real Madrid, the Welshman was destined for La Finca.
It is the exclusive neighbourhood home to Spanish football's best and Bale ended up moving into a £10,000-a-month mansion that was once home to Kaka.
Bale, known as 'the golfer' by Real team-mates, had looked at a home on one of Spain's championship courses but ended up with the two-storey, four-bedroom house worth £6.5m.
Designed by architect Joaquin Torres, the property comes with a six-car garage, indoor pool and gym, along with a variety of terraces.
Jurgen Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers in more ways than one at Liverpool.
First, the German coach was appointed as Rodgers' successor in the Anfield dugout in October 2015, and then he moved into the new Leicester manager's home.
Rodgers let out the seven-bedroom property in Formby which was previously owned by Steven Gerrard.
It comes with three living rooms, a home cinema, indoor swimming pool and a landscaped garden, as well as Adam Lallana as the nextdoor neighbour.
You owe me mane
Ousmane Dembele left landlord Jurgen Klopp furious after his Dortmund house was found "in chaos".
Liverpool boss Klopp rented the house out when he moved from Borussia Dortmund to Anfield in 2015, and Dembele snapped it up.
But in the weeks before his move to Barcelona, the young French star went AWOL and the property was left in an absolute state, according to German outlet Bild.
Bin bags were strewn across the front lawn while furniture and clothing were left throughout the house.
When Brendan Rodgers divorced from wife Susan in 2014, there was one man that benefited in Liverpool.
Then Reds boss Rodgers moved into a £1.2m flat in the city centre which left his former home available to rent.
French centre-back Mamadou Sakho ended up moving into the £1.6m gated house in Merseyside.
And Sakho was so thrilled by the new pad he would show it off to his 1.1million Instagram followers.
