Elanga and Matic both spotted celebrating BEFORE Cristiano Ronaldo scored penalty in Man Utd win over Brentford
May 3, 2022ANTHONY ELANGA and Nemanja Matic were both spotted celebrating BEFORE Cristiano Ronaldo scored his penalty against Brentford on Monday night.
The Red Devils swatted The Bees aside with a routine 3-0 victory in their final home game of the season at Old Trafford.
Ronaldo, who had a goal ruled out in the first half for offside, eventually got his name on the scoresheet 16 minutes into the second half after winning and dispatching a spot kick.
But as he stepped up to strike the penalty, ESPN captured Elanga gearing up to sprint to the corner flag.
And Matic could be seen with his arms in the air as Ronaldo began his run-up.
Ronaldo rifled the spot kick home to hand Man Utd a 2-0 lead.

He then headed straight towards the Man Utd fans as they anticipated his trademark Siu celebration.
And Elanga, who had set off in pursuit of Ronaldo, got in on the act by copying his Portuguese team-mate's famous jump and swivel.
The goal was Ronaldo's 24th of the campaign in 37 appearances for Man Utd.
After the match, he opted to embark on a lap of honour around Old Trafford as he applauded the home supporters.

As the camera followed him around, he appeared to say: "I'm not finished yet".
He later denied that was what he said by responding on social media: "I didn't say that."
Ronaldo still has one year left on his current Man Utd contract.
However, there has been speculation that he could leave in the summer if he wants to continue playing Champions League football or Erik ten Hag does not see a place for him in his team.
Meanwhile, Serbian midfielder Matic said his farewells to the Man Utd fans on Monday night after confirming earlier this month that he will be leaving when his contract expires in the summer.
