September 29, 2022

CONOR McGREGOR predicted he'll be a billionaire in just one year and named his toughest ever UFC opponent in a revealing Q&A.

The Irishman, 34, asked his 9million plus Twitter followers to send him questions back in 2020.

And pressed on when he believes he will become a billionaire, McGregor, with an estimated £100m net worth, replied: "35 years of age."

The Notorious is the highest paid UFC fighter in history, and also banked around £80m for his 2017 boxing match against Floyd Mayweather.

His Proper 12 Irish whiskey, which was released in 2018, also raked in £750m in its first year.

The UFC icon would become just the sixth sports star to join the exclusive billionaire club after the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Floyd Mayweather.

McGregor – who bought a £2.7m Lamborghini yacht – has not fought since he tried to avenge defeat against Dustin Poirier – when he broke his leg in 2021.

Asked who is toughest opponent was, McGregor answered: "Nate Diaz. The west coast zombie."

Diaz, now 37, in 2016 became the first to beat The Notorious in the UFC, but lost the rematch five months later.

The third and final decider has evaded fans so far, but McGregor is adamant they will settle their series.

He said: "The trilogy will be of epic proportions when it goes down.

"Nathan, and his fighting styles, are never far from my thoughts throughout my own practices.

"When it happens, I’m ready."

The Dubliner first faced Diaz at UFC 196, as the American replaced then-lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos on short notice.

As a result, McGregor moved up from featherweight to welterweight, where he fought Diaz on both occasions.

The southpaw star returned to 170lb for his comeback against Donald Cerrone last year.

But McGregor still has one eye on the welterweight division, where Kamaru Usman reigns as champion.

He tweeted last year before his leg break: "I will commit to the 155lb division for 2021 however. Some great matchups to be had here, as well as unfinished business.

"I will show the world once again who I am, and what I’m about. Trust that! 170 is in my thoughts also however.

"You know me for doubling up…"

McGregor has not been victorious at lightweight since winning the belt against Eddie Alvarez in 2016.

He was later stripped of the title as he put his UFC career on hold to face Mayweather, losing in ten rounds.
