Chelsea star Willian wanted by Juventus and Barcelona but Lampard confirms new contract talks which fans will not be happy about – The SunOctober 3, 2019
CHELSEA star Willian is wanted by his former boss Maurizio Sarri for a reunion at Juventus.
And Barcelona, who were interested in signing the 31-year-old in summer, also want to sort a transfer.
But in news that might stun Chelsea fans, Blues boss Frank Lampard has confirmed the player is in "conversation" with the club over a new contract.
The Brazilian, who joined in 2013, has become a target for the Stamford Bridge boo boys over the last couple of seasons.
And despite his match-winning strike against Lille to help Chelsea secure a 2-1 Champions League win away at Lille, he has some way to go to be back in the fans' affections.
Italian news-site Calcio Mercato is reporting that Juventus and Sarri want to bring him to Serie A, but Barca could gazump the Italians.
NEW CONTRACT FOR WILLIAN
They are believed to be able to offer a much better financial package to tempt him to Spain.
But another option could even be for the midfielder to STAY at Stamford Bridge.
Speaking about the player, boss Lampard said: “I have got no news on the Willian contract.
“That’s a conversation between Willy, his representatives and the club.
“Everyone can see I’m happy with Willy on the pitch.”
Willian made his 300th appearance for Chelsea against Lille, and marked it with the winner.
But Blues fans were still unhappy to see him trotting out in the starting XI.
More than one disgruntled fan mocked Chelsea's celebratory tweet, replying: "300 too many."
And comments all rolled in to the same effect, with another adding: "Hope it's the last one."
One even joked: "He'll celebrate it with 2 missed chances and 4 bad final passes. Man like Willian."
