Chelsea left-back Emerson Palmieri wanted by AC Milan as Italian giants plot £22m transfer in meeting with agentApril 17, 2019
CHELSEA star Emerson Palmieri is reportedly being lined up for a £22million move to AC Milan.
Calciomercato claims the left-back, 24, could be heading back to Serie A after his agent met with Milan chiefs on Monday.
Emerson has struggled to nail down a regular place in Chelsea’s starting XI following an £18m switch from Roma in January 2018.
The Italy international has featured just 13 times in the Premier League under Maurizio Sarri and former boss Antonio Conte.
But despite ousting Marcos Alonso from defence in the last few matches, Emerson could be interested in a fresh start.
Milan are ready to spend big as they look to secure a return to the Champions League.
And it’s said that Emerson’s representatives have already held talks with Gennaro Gattuso’s side ahead of a £22m bid.
However, it remains to be seen if Chelsea will enter negotiations as they continue to fight a two-window transfer ban.
Should the Blues win their battle, they could launch a £50m bid for Lille’s Nicolas Pepe.
The winger, 23, has been in stunning form this season and is being lined up as a replacement for Real Madrid target Eden Hazard.
Barcelona superstar Philippe Coutinho has also been linked with Chelsea.
While Eintracht Frankfurt’s Luka Jovic could replace Gonzalo Higuain in attack.
