Charlotte Flair issues statement on reports she is engaged to fellow WWE star Andrade

April 25, 2019

CHARLOTTE FLAIR has issued a statement over reports she is engaged to fellow WWE star Andrade.

Rumours have spread like wildfire that the grappling couple were due to marry after the eight-time women's champion was spotted several times with a ring on her wedding finger.

But 33-year-old Flair, real name Ashley Fleihr, has dismissed that speculation.

In a statement issued to Pro Wrestling Sheet, she said:“Don’t believe everything you read online. Unless you read that I’m the most decorated women’s wrestler ever, because that is fact.

“No, we are not currently engaged.”

The couple only recently went public about their relationship but have enjoyed sharing various snaps of them together since.

And eagle-eyed fans were quick to spot something on “The Queen’s” wedding finger – a ring.

Charlotte was first seen wearing it in the lead-up to WrestleMania earlier this month while posing with her fella.

The pair have since enjoyed a vacation in the Dominican Republic, sharing several pictures of them enjoying the sun.

And Charlotte, the daughter of the legendary Ric Flair, was seen sporting the ring again while on the beach.

Now it has been confirmed that it is nothing more than coincidence with Andrade not popping the big question just yet.

The record-breaking eight-time Women’s Champion has been married twice before, first walking down the aisle to tie the knot with Riki Johnson in May 2010.

She divorced Johnson in February 2013, which she claimed in her book titled ‘Second Nature’ was due to her being the victim of multiple domestic assaults – claims which her ex has now filed a lawsuit against.

Flair married for a second time in 2013 to another wrestler called Thomas Latimer, who is better knownby his ring name Bram.

They divorced in October 2015.

Flair made history on April 7 when she competed in the first-ever female main event at WrestleMania.

But she lost her SmackDown Women’s Title despite not being defeated as Becky Lynch pinned Ronda Rousey to claim the belt and the Raw Women’s Championship in the triple threat bout at the extravaganza.

She claimed her rematch last night by defeating Bayley on SmackDown, setting up a title shot against the Irish Lasskicker at Money In The Bank on May 19.

Andrade is currently receiving a push in WWE following his promotion from NXT last year.

He shot to stardom in his homeland as a masked performer at the Lucha Libre in Mexico City before he moved on to the US.

Both wrestlers are currently on the SmackDown Live roster.
