Saliba valued at cool £70.5m
Arsena's breakthrough star William Saliba has been rated in the top-five most expensive defenders in world football.
The France centre-half joined the Gunners for about £27m three years ago but has only cemented his place in their side this season after loan moves back in his homeland.
But his progress with the Prem leaders and the World Cup finalists has been so rapid this campaign that he has now been given a market value of £70.5m.
The only defenders dearer than him are Jules Kounde, Eder Militao, Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol according to analysis by the CIES Football Observatory.

Arsenal and United eye Depay
Manchester United or Arsenal could offer Memphis Depay a shock return to the Prem.
The Dutch forward, 28, left the Red Devils to join Lyon five years ago and then moved to Barcelona last year.
The Red Devils want to boost their Cristiano Ronaldo-less attack this month and Depay is said to be keen on a return to Old Trafford.
But the Gunners also need cover for injured line-leader Gabriel Jesus.
And according to Spanish outlet Sport both clubs could be about to put in a low-ball bid for the star, who will be out of contract in the summer.

'Players decide' their future
Mikel Arteta has revealed that 'players decide where they play', after he was quizzed about the Mykhailo Mudryk transfer saga.
The Gunners have submitted two offers for the Shakhtar Donetsk forward, but have yet to meet the Ukraine club's £88miliion valuation of their prized asset.
Chelsea are also said to be waiting in the wings, should the Gunners fail in their efforts to land Mudryk.
Speaking about the potential move, Arteta revealed: “Valuations have to be made between the selling club and the buying club. And it is difficult but it shows there are a lot of clubs with a lot of financial power to spend big amounts, and we have to compete with them.
“To be smart, we have to see good opportunities and we have to be attractive for players. At the end of the day, players decide where they want to play, and if they want to play for our club, that is great.”

Fierce Arteta
Mikel Arteta vows not to change his touchline behaviour just to appease critics.
He said: “I haven’t read the criticism of my behaviour and I am not part of that debate.
“They can all have their opinions but I will always try to do my best for this football club, to defend my players.
“And I will always have the passion that I believe the game has to be played with. But that’s me. That’s the way I am, on and off the pitch, for the good and the bad.
“The way I behaved against Newcastle was not the same as I behaved in our previous game against West Ham and I don’t think it’s fair to take the context out of the situation.
“I read a lot of times that this team is the mirror of the coach and I am not going to change the passion I have.
“I will try over time to be better but I will do whatever I have to do to make the club stronger, the players better and to win games.
“And if I have to change something, believe me, I will look in the mirror and I will change it very quickly.”

Chelsea ‘better off without’ Aubameyang
Chelsea have been Warn-ed they would be better off without selfish Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
And Neil Warnock reckons it is only a matter of time before the ex-Arsenal striker throws Graham Potter under the bus.
Warnock told talkSPORT: "You get players like that and you are better off without them.
"Chelsea are short of strikers but people like Aubameyang are after themselves really, they look after themselves as players and they’ll throw the manager under the bus rather than take any blame.
"So I think Graham Potter has to deal with it. It’s similar to what’s happened with Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United.
"I said United should let him go in pre-season and that was no disrespect to Ronaldo.
"Leopards don’t change their spots and I don’t think Aubameyang will ever change. You know from Arsenal to Chelsea, now he looks the same type of player. On his day, as good as you’ll see, but his days are few and far between."
