Eighth-seeded Australian player Ashleigh Barty has reached her first Grand Slam final at the French Open, and she got there by ending the run of 17-year-old American Amanda Anisimova 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-3.

Barty will face another teenager, Marketa Vondrousova, in the final. Vondrousova beat Johanna Konta 7-5, 7-6 (2).

Anisimova made headlines on Thursday after she stunned third-ranked Simona Halep in the quarterfinals, cruising in straight sets to a 6-2, 6-4 victory. The win was Anisimova's first against a top-five player, and it secured her first trip to the semifinals at a major championship.

"I can't believe it. I mean, I've been working so hard, but I didn't think it would pay off like this," Anisimova said after Thursday's win. "This is honestly more than I could ask for."
