A day in the life of a footballer's barber, from cutting Man Utd and Chelsea stars' hair and travelling the country

February 10, 2022

CUTTING the hair of some of the biggest names in football is a more glamorous task than than you might think.

A-Star Barbers is a favourite among Premier League stars, with his services required up and down the country on a daily basis.

The likes of Eden Hazard and John Terry have all been happy customers for owner Ahmed Alsanawi in the past, with his shop in Chessington, Surrey a hotspot for Chelsea players in particular.

Even global superstars Kylian Mbappe and David Alaba have enlisted Alsanawi's services previously.

But a normal day also involves being privately chauffeured from client to client around the country in a fancy motor to care for the hair of those who can't make it to his shop.

In a post to Instagram, Alsanawi has offered an insight into what's it like to cut the locks of some of the game's biggest talents.

This day in particular starts with him clambering into a snazzy looking car and heading to Stoke for his first job of the day.

Former Chelsea man Lewis Baker, now at Stoke City, is the first of just four haircuts for Alsanawi on the day.

Once he's done with Baker he hops back into his private car and sets off for Manchester.

There he's booked in with Manchester United stars Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard, before Alsanawi finishes off with a 'secret' client.

After that he can clock off for the day and kick back and relax in his plush motor, but does have the FOUR hour drive home back to Surrey before he's done for the day.

Although the built-in TV in his car that he uses to play video games does go some way to keeping Alsanawi entertained.

Prices for a haircut in his Surrey store start from just £18, and £24 for a haircut and beard appointment.

But a booked in trim with a Premier League star 200 miles away from his HQ is sure to cost a penny or two more.

Manchester City's £100million summer signing Jack Grealish is also a regular customer for A-Star Barbers.

Grealish booked himself in earlier this week to ditch his iconic floppy locks before being ribbed on social media after struggling to get into a bar in Manchester.
