OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER'S Old Trafford return ended in another victory for Manchester United's caretaker manager as a Paul Pogba brace helped see off spirited Huddersfield.

Charged with injecting new life into United's ailing season following Jose Mourinho's dismissal, Solskjaer's side failed to reach the heights scaled at Cardiff yet ended up with another comprehensive Premier League win.

He received an incredible reception as he emerged from the tunnel to take charge of his first game at Old Trafford as a Manchester United manager.

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER made it two wins out of two as he won his first game back at Old Trafford 3-1 against Huddersfield.

Paul Pogba scored twice and Nemanja Matic added another as resurgent United put their torrid time under Jose Mourinho behind them.

OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER has vowed to bring "excitement and entertainment" back to Manchester United as he was given a hero's welcome on his return to Old Trafford.

The Norwegian chief, 45, wrote in his pre-match programme notes that he needs to "show fans what Man United is all about".

WAYNE ROONEY was searched by Old Trafford security ahead of Manchester United's Boxing Day clash with Huddersfield today.

The United legend, 33, was given a pat-down as he entered the ground today with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer going for win No2 after replacing the sacked Jose Mourinho.

MANCHESTER UNITED have had a bid for Douglas Costa turned by Juventus, reports claim.

Juventus turned down a bid of £54million, according to Calciomercato, with the player apparently telling his agent he does not wish to leave Turin.
