  • GOOD MORNING UNITED FANS

It was another superb display last night as the Red Devils eased to victory over Aston Villa.

Bruno Fernandes added another goal to his list from the penalty spot after a controversial decision to award United a spot-kick.

Hotshot Mason Greenwood continued his stunning run of form with the second on the stroke of half time.

And Paul Pogba made it three in the second period as the Old Trafford side moved to within a point of fourth-placed Leicester.

Meanwhile, Sir Alex Ferguson raked in £2million last year to boost the value of his personal company to more than £12.4million.

The former Manchester United boss’ wealth continued to soar seven years after he retired.

He has earned millions from book deals, personal appearances and public speaking engagements.

Latest accounts for his company ACF (Alexander Chapman Ferguson) Sports Promotions show it declared a profit of £2,085,030 for the year up to June 30, 2019.

They showed the company had assets of £19million against debts of almost £6.6million.

Among his investments was a Goldman Sachs private equity fund called Distressed Managers.

Glasgow-born Sir Alex, 78, still works 20 days a year as a United ambassador. In 2018, he survived a brain haemorrhage.

  • POGBAAAAAA!

Paul Pogba makes it 3-0 and surely secures the win for United.

    The Frenchman is BACK!

  • GO ON MA-SON!

Check out this hit from wonderkid Mason Greenwood.

Gave United a 2-0 cushion right on half-time.

About 35 minutes left in the game at Villa Park.

  • GOALLLLLLL!!!!!! MASON GREENWOOD!

United make it 2-0 and it's Mason Greenwood.

    A thumping right-footed strike.

A bit of luck with the penalty that was awarded for the first but none there.

    Phenomenal finish from the youngster.

  • GOALLLLLL!!!! BRUNO FERNANDES!!!!

United take the lead against Villa.

Bruno Fernandes with a coolly taken penalty in the 27th minute.

He was the man fouled right on the edge of the box.

1-0 at Villa Park to the Red Devils.

  • GAME ON

Manchester United are currently in action away at Aston Villa.

Incredibly, boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has named the same Red Devils starting XI for the fourth game in a row.

The first time that has happened since 2006.

  • DON'T LASK DON'T GET

Manchester United will host LASK in the Europa League.

But fans will be banned with all remaining matches to be held behind closed doors.

Uefa have reached the decision amid the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The Europa League tie will be completed on home soil on either August 5 or 6.

  • HOUSE PARTY

Former Manchester United trio Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani and Anderson used to share a mega pad.

Portuguese Nani, 33, revealed they used to live it up in Ronaldo's home with a swimming pool, ping-pong table and tennis court all part of the crib.

Nani told The Players' Tribune: “We were all young lads who spoke the same language and we had so much fun.

“Cristiano had a swimming pool, a ping-pong table, a tennis court – and every day we would compete at something.”

  • GO-JO

Marcos Rojo's agent has tipped the Argentine defender to leave the Red Devils this summer.

The 31-year-old star has been on loan in his homeland with Estudiantes.

Stretty News quote his representative Jonathan Barnett as saying: “I couldn’t comment on what Solskjaer thinks but I think it’s obvious.

“”I think with Rojo, probably (a move) is more than likely somewhere else.”

  • SOL SEARCHING

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly told exec Ed Woodward what's on his transfer shopping list.

The Norwegian has steered the Red Devils into some great form since Project Restart.

And now he is looking to bolster the ranks with a new winger, centre-back and striker.

The Telegraph report he has communicated with Woodward and told him exactly what he wants – with Jadon Sancho still very much the No1 target.

  • TUAN IN A ML

Manchester United are reportedly looking in house for their next world-beating centre-back.

The Red Devils believe Axel Tuanzebe can be the man to step up to the plate, saving the club millions in transfer fees.

The Athletic claim Old Trafford chiefs see the 22-year-old as a new Rio Ferdinand or Nemanja Vidic.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking for a new partner for skipper Harry Maguire, with Swede Victor Lindelof currently pairing up with the former Leicester man.

  • SANCHO GREEN LIGHT

Manchester United have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of Jadon Sancho after Borussia Dortmund admitted they are looking for replacements.

The Red Devils have been linked with the England ace for months and the Bundesliga club appear to be preparing for life without him.

Chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke told Kicker:

“If Jadon left, we would do something again in the offensive area.

“There are certainly one or two players we are targeting.

“When you don't have a billionaire or a state backing you up, then you need to be careful how you invest your money.

“We don't have an end date for corona and without that we simply have no planning security.

“Should we sell Sancho, then every player will cost £5-10m more. We have nothing to give away.”

  • MATCH DAY

Manchester United travel to Villa Park tonight to take on struggling Aston Villa.

Dean Smith's Villa side will be confident of getting a result after their good performance against Liverpool on Sunday.

United however come into the game in fine form, after scoring eleven goals in their last three league games.

A win would put Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side on 58 points, just one behind fourth placed Leicester.

    Kick off is at 8.15pm.

  • BIG SALE… SMALL CHANGE

Manchester United are in talks with Roma about extending the centre-back’s loan deal to include next season, according to reports.

The Englishman has been on loan with the Serie A side since last summer and the discussions have taken place amid recent reports linking him with a permanent transfer at the end of this season.

Smalling has become a fans’ favourite at the Stadio Olimpico – making 32 appearances in all competitions this season.

However, his current deal sees him return to Old Trafford on August 2 when Serie A finishes.

But the Italians are now discussing the option of having him on loan again next season with the option to buy for £13m at the end of that campaign, according to Football Italia.

  • BAGG A SIGNING

West Brom are plotting an ambitious move to bring Jesse Lingard to the Hawthorns.

The 27-year-old midfielder is finding match action hard to come by at Manchester United this season.

West Ham are believed to be weighing up a double swoop for him and fellow England international Phil Jones from the Red Devils.

And Leicester City, Newcastle and Everton have also been linked with Lingard.

Now The Independent claim promotion-chasing West Brom are ready to fight it out for the star’s signature if they secure a Premier League return.

Slaven Bilic’s side moved back into top spot in the Championship, and five points clear in the promotion race, after easing to a 2-0 win over Derby last night.

  • BOX TO BOX

Brandon Williams shared a picture with Manchester featherweight boxer Zelfa Barrett.

The Manchester United full-back popped a video and snap on his Instagram of the puncher in training ahead of his Matchroom debut on August 14, while Zelfa celebrates his 27th birthday.

Williams also shared a picture of the pair together, which was taken after Barrett's Commonwealth super featherweight win over Leon Woodstock in June 2019.

No doubt the Old Trafford youngster will be watching closely when Barrett takes on Eric Donovan at the Matchroom Fight Camp in Essex next month.

  • TWELFTH NIGHT

Premier League clubs are edging towards a September 12 start date for next season, reports MARTIN LIPTON.

But that would put the League Cup under serious threat – and spell the likely end of FA Cup replays as well.

League chiefs had proposed three potential starting weekends for the 2020-21 season, August 22 and 29 and the September date.

September 5 is impossible because it falls in the middle of what will be first international break since last November.

League chiefs were keener on an early start for a season that must finish by May 16 because of the fixed requirement for a rest period before the delayed Euro 2020.

But that would have opened the possibility of Manchester City, Manchester United and Wolves all missing the opening weekend if they are still involved in the rescheduled Champions and Europa League mini-tournaments.

  • MASE IS ACE

Mason Greenwood has had the stamp of approval – from Man City’s rising star.

Phil Foden said: “Mason Greenwood is the best I've seen finishing wise. He's both-footed in and around the box.

    “He's always going to score.

“It's just the right type of shot — he just knows when to finesse or lace it. The keeper's never stable or set.”

  • THANKS RASH

Altrincham FC have shared pictures of a shared Manchester United shirt Marcus Rashford has sent them to auction.

The Old Trafford striker used their Moss Lane ground to get some training in during the height of lockdown.

They plan to put the shirt under the hammer to raise funds for the club.

    TOP MARCS

Marcus Rashford’s girlfriend has earned a first class honours degree.

Lucia Loi, 22, has spent the last three years studying advertising and brand management at Manchester Metropolitan University.

And on Wednesday she revealed she had been awarded the highest grade available to a BA (Hons) student — setting her up for a successful career in PR and advertising.

Manchester United and England star Marcus, also 22, and Lucia started dating after meeting at school.

After Marcus broke into United’s first team in 2016 — scoring two goals on his debut — he celebrated by playing pool in their common room at Ashton on Mersey School, in Sale, Greater Manchester.

Lucia later cheered him on from the stands as he played for England against Colombia at the 2018 World Cup.

    FAN’S VIEW

Manchester United fan writer Tom McDermott has given his take on United’s defence.

Harry Maguire has made two huge mistakes already since the return of the Premier League last month.

The first, against Tottenham Hotspur and Steven Bergwijn, exposed his lack of pace, and at the weekend against Bournemouth, he was beaten very easily in a tight space by Junior Stanislas.

Neither should have happen so easily, and Manchester United fans are hoping it’s not the start of a poor run that would not only cost them this campaign, but the next too.

Just to be clear, Maguire is a very good Premier League defender. But this is Manchester United and he’s the captain, so naturally he is in a position where every second, of every game, is overanalysed.

    RVP'S 1-2-3

Neither Lionel Messi nor Cristiano Ronaldo made the cut in Robin van Persie's 2020 Ballon d'Or ranking.

The Dutchman posted his top three footballers of the year online ahead of the current season coming to a close.

With the nominations usually released in November, the business end of the campaign is often the best time for players to stake their claim.

For ex-Manchester United and Arsenal hero Van Persie, the top gong is currently heading in Robert Lewandowski's direction.

A whopping 21 goals since the turn of the year have helped Bayern Munich to another domestic double and few would bet against the Bavarians going far in August's Champions League showdown.

Bagging a goal a game is no mean feat for any striker but the Pole's stunning 51 strikes in 41 games this season place him among the favourites for the 2020 honour.

    DREAM TO WORK WITH

Paul Pogba has revealed he loves playing alongside Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood, Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Martial – because they work so hard.

He told ManUtd.com: “From behind I just enjoy it.

“I’m enjoying just watching Bruno, Rashford, Martial and Mason, who all played the last game, and seeing them score goals.

“You just keep applauding, it’s beautiful… they make me enjoy football every time!

“As well though there is the defensive work that people don’t talk about – they do it.

“The pressing – they do it… that’s what you maybe don’t see that much. Football fans who know football see that and that’s the difference that we have and it’s great to see them at their best.”

    POG: WE'RE IMPROVING

The Frenchman told ManUtd.com: “You can tell that the team is improving a lot.

“We play more as a team than we did before, we enjoy it even more, we defend together, we attack together, and this team is stronger as well.

“The players who are on the bench or who don’t play every time, when they come on they help the team so the mentality is good and is right.

“All this together has put us where we are today.”
