Arsenal legend Terry Neill has lauded the performances of Kieran Tierney as he hailed him as the club's best left-back since Ashley Cole.

He said: “Tierney has been brilliant for us and the more I see him, the more I like him. He comes across as a level-headed young lad, very self-effacing and that’s surely down to his family and friends and the way he was brought up.

“Ashley Cole was superb. He was a great player and it’s obviously still early days with Kieran but, from what I’ve seen so far, I’ve been immensely impressed by him.

“Let’s not forget that Kieran is still only 23 and he’s not nearly as good yet as he’s going to be.

“Every time I see him he looks better than the time before so there’s even more to come from him – but it’s not just his performances I’ve been taken by. Football and life are about more than just the odd flash of talent.

“When I hear Kieran being interviewed on television he seems to be a grounded individual, although his mental strength stands out as well.

“He’s clearly been well-schooled at Celtic and he’s a credit to his family.”

Former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas believed Nicolas Pepe is up there with Newcastle striker Joelinton as one of the flops of the season.

The Ivory Coast winger came to the Emirates last summer from Lille for £72milliom, and although he has shown flashes of his brilliance, he has failed to deliver on a regular basis.

Speaking on BBC Sport Radio 5 Live, Jenas was commenting on flop signings, with Pepe's name then mentioned.

He said: “Oh god. yeah. That’s up there with Joelinton, I think. It’s the money, it’s as simple as that.

“The amount of money that has been spent on him in terms of what he has delivered and what you can actually see.

“Everyone can have a bad season. I don’t remember it but a lot of people talk about Henry’s first season at Arsenal and that it didn’t quite go for him straight away.

“And they kind of lean on that quite a lot in terms of these types of signings in that he will get it right. [But] I have just not seen it with this particular player. So that business there looks bad business, at the minute.”

But his stats aren't as bad as what Jenas has made out, with the player chipping in with five goals and six assists in 30 games in the Premier League.

Arsenal remain desperate to sign Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey, but should they fail to land himm, they have already identified another option.

It has been claimed that Porto would be willing to cash in on Danilo for just £20million.

And the news outlet suggests that Arsenal will meet with the player's representatives at the end of the season.

It will be the fourteenth Premier League clash between the two sides.

And the Gunners have won five of their last six Premier League home games against the rivals.

Mikel Arteta’s men are likely to be looking to end the season with a win.

However, the Gunners who are tenth will be finishing their lowest position in the table since 1995.

Bernd Leno has given hope to Gunners fans of his potentially faster than expected return from injury.

The Germany keeper posted a video of himself on Twitter getting some practice between the sticks.

Mustafi, 28, sustained the injury during the closing stages of Arsenal's 2-0 semi-final victory against Manchester City at Wembley last week.

Arteta said: “Musti’s injury is related to this because we had to expose our players and had some really bad injuries in the last weeks where we lost big, big players – our goalkeeper, central defenders, Martinelli, central midfielders. It is what it is.”

The German defender has received plenty of criticism for his inconsistent displays for the north London club since his arrival from Valencia in 2016 but has enjoyed a renaissance under Mikel Arteta, starting 12 of their last 15 Premier League games.
