You’ve been reheating wraps wrong – chef says to never do it in microwaveMarch 9, 2021
There's nothing quite like a home-cooked Mexican meal.
Whether it's tacos or burritos on the menu, the carbs are sometimes all we need after a long day.
But what if we told you the way you've been reheating your tortilla wraps is actually wrong?
Chef Edson Diaz-Fuentes recently told Delish that reheating wraps in a microwave or oven is a common mistake people make.
And it's not just one chef who claims this is a mishap in the kitchen, it's two other culinary masterminds who agree.
According to chefs Daniel Corrochio and Anjula Devi, using the microwave causes the wraps to lose their texture.
Speaking to The Mirror, chef Daniel said: "The microwave will make flour tortillas turn stiff quite fast.
"There is nothing better than heating a flour tortilla on a pan with a bit of butter. That itself was a snack when I was a kid."
Even author and chef Anjula Devi agreed with the Mexican chef as she gave her tips to getting it just right.
She said: "The best way to warm tortilla wraps is over an open flame. The problem with microwaving is you lose moisture and texture."

So next time you're cooking up a Mexican storm, just remember to warm the wraps in a pan over a low heat.
Add some oil or a little bit of butter and make sure it doesn't stick or burn.
Turn the wraps a few times while warming to really perfect them the next time you're in charge of the cooking.
