What does Casa Amor mean? Meaning and translation of Love Island’s second villa

July 4, 2022

Love Islandannounced the return of Casa Amorwith an explosive teaser as narrator Iain Stirling confirmed thefamous show twist.

The boys and girls have now been split up with one group staying in the main villa, while the others will head over to Casa Amor which is a second villa located just down the road to meet a new group of singletons.

In previous years the boys have gone to Casa Amor while the girls have stayed in the main villa, but this year the girls have left.

A whole host of new singletons will enter each villa and the boys and girls will get to know the newbies, and eventually have to decide whether they wish to recouple with a newcomer or stay with their current partner, who is in the other villa.

Casa Amor, when translated into English, means ‘Love House’ – and with the accommodation being used for finding relationships the meaning is very apt.

Usually, the second villa is a three to four day trip, allowing the contestants to get to know one another and make that all important decision.

As we wait to see what happens in Casa Amor, previously Islanders have been speaking out about their time on the show.

Shaughna PhillipsandJack Finchamclaimed producersset up conversationsand she says she was encouraged to say certain things on the ITV2 show.

During a video Q&A, Jack, who won series four with then girlfriendDani Dyer, and Shaughna who appeared on series six, answered the question, did you ever have to refilm a scene?

Shaughna responded saying: "So they sometimes ask you, "Why don't you go and have this conversation?" And you think, 'Alright, I'm going to go and ask it, but I'll do it on my own little spin.'

"It was me andSophie[Piper] having a chat and they wanted me to put it on her a little bit about asking Nas [Majeed] to choose her. I was like, "I think it, but I don't want to say it!"

She then goes on to say she repeated the scene four times, before giving in and making Sophie cry.

Talking about another occasion, Shaughna, 28, who was partnered withCallum Jonesin the villa before he chose to recouple with Molly Smith, added: "The day that Casa Amor was going to come back, they asked me to go and tellPaige[Turley] that I want Callum to ask me to be his girlfriend when he come back.

"So me and Paige went outside, sat in the rain for three hours. We were just like, "What do you think is happening in EastEnders? What do you think's going on?"

"They're like, "Shaughna, just say it." – You will not get me to say it."

Jack chipped in saying: "There are certain things you think to yourself, 'Do you know what, nah…"

While she added to his answer: "It's not worth the £200 you're getting paid for!"
