The UK’s highest-paying jobs right now, according to a study

January 7, 2021

The past year hasn't exactly been the easiest when it comes to careers, job prospects and the economy, but now the highest-paying jobs in the UK has been revealed.

So if you've always wondered how much people earn in various other professions, then wonder no more.

Employment website, Indeed, has released a top 20 list for the roles which provide the highest salary and in top place is the job of a data modeller – which has an epic salary of £145,726.

Tax partners – who are paid around £127,000 -came in at second place, followed by security project managers, who are often on £125,000.

To complete the list, Indeed analysed hundreds of thousands of job listings to compile a table of the roles which make the most money right now.

They found that more than a third of the highest-paying jobs are found in the healthcare sector, with neurosurgeons, neonatologists, paediatric consultants earning almost six figure salaries.

Unsurprisingly, also in the top ten are roles within the finance, sales and technology sectors.

  • Domestic life changed under lockdown with more households sharing chores, study says

For example, a user experience researcher came in at fifth place with a salary of £118,261, and a chief financial officer is in the sixth spot with them earning £115,467.

Commenting on the highest-paid job, Indeed’s Bill Richards said: "Data modeller is a role few people outside the tech and business worlds will have heard of.

"But its low profile may partly explain why it is so well paid; candidates with these specialist skills are rare and employers are fighting hard to win their attention – by offering high salaries," he added.
