Charlotte Ritchie

Raised in Clapham, Southwest London, the youngest of three in a tight-knit family, Charlotte Ritchie attended James Allen’s Girls’ School – one of London’s top independent schools and also the alma mater of fellow actress Sally Hawkins (of Blue Jasmine and Paddington fame).

She told Daily Mail: ‘I used to tell really boring stories as a child, about my toy panda’s nose falling off, or something equally dull. They would all talk over me, at increasing volume, to see how long it would take before I stopped.

‘But I never gave up. I think that’s why I like the sound of my own voice so much! I used to be a bit of a show-off at school, but I’ve calmed down now and learnt to censor myself.’

A self-confessed ‘drama nerd’ at school, Charlotte got an agent and won a part in a 12-minute film, The Open Doors, playing Michael Sheen’s niece, when she was just 15.

London-born actress Charlotte Ritchie, who has previously appeared in series like Call the Midwife and Fresh Meat, will star in the fourth season of the show

The actress is no stranger to a steamy scene – previously filming passionate moments for Netflix’s Feel Good

Two years later, she was selected to be one quarter of the classical-crossover girl band All Angels – who toured with Katherine Jenkins – and also embarked on a degree in drama and English at Bristol University. Upon graduating, she decided to put acting above music and began auditioning for roles in television.

Charlotte’s big break came swiftly when she was cast in Channel 4’s Fresh Meat, playing a university student called Oregon.

Although Oregon is a try-hard hipster who sleeps with her married lecturer and changes her hairstyle as often as her clothes, Charlotte told Daily Mail in 2017 she can relate to her.

‘I knew lots of Oregons at Bristol. I admire her motivation and keenness – and also her wardrobe.’

Meanwhile the actress has also appeared in series like Fresh Meat, where she has filmed steamy sex scenes

Rising star Charlotte has already made a name for herself with her appearances in hit shows like Call the Midwife (left) and Ghosts (right)

Charlotte’s character, the wide-eyed Barbara Gilbert, joined the cast of Call the Midwife for the fourth season of the series about the nuns and nurses of Nonnatus House, filling a gap left by the much-loved Jessica Raine, who had played midwife Jenny Lee.

‘Luckily, everyone was so welcoming. I felt seriously nervous. I remember Helen [George, who plays fellow midwife Trixie and is a contestant on this season’s Strictly Come Dancing] insulting me on the first day, but in the best, most amicable way, and thinking, ‘Phew. I’ll be OK here.’

Her parents, she says, tolerated her becoming an actor because they’d already shepherded the elder two into steady careers and thought, ‘It doesn’t matter if the little one does something unstable.’

After Call the Midwife, she starred in Netflix series Feel Good, where she appeared in a number of steamy scenes with co-star Mae Martin.

She also appeared in the hit comedy series Ghosts, where she starred as Alison.

While she doesn’t have social media,  she previously revealed she does have a long term partner – a former friend from Bristol university who works as an economist.

In 2016, she made her television debut in an episode of the CBBC series Millie Inbetween.

Storylines for her Eastenders character included getting caught on CCTV having sex by her father Phil, as well as getting caught in a fire causing her to have permanent burns and falling pregnant with Keanu Taylor’s (Danny Walters) child.

She left the show in January 2020, and quickly landed a role in the BBC Three film Make Me Famous.

Amy-Leigh Hickman

Born to parents of Anglo-Indian heritage and brought up in Hastings, Amy-Leigh began acting at The Theatre Workshop in Bexhill as a child

Her first big role came in CBBC’s Tracy Beaker Returns, a spin off from The Story of Tracy Beaker, which was announced in December 2008, as Carmen Howle

The actress, who has previously won an award for her work in Ackley Bridge, has spoken of her fear of being type cast

Born to parents of Anglo-Indian heritage and brought up in Hastings, Amy-Leigh began acting at The Theatre Workshop in Bexhill as a child.

She told Evening Standard in 2020 that the theatre school was the only formal training she has ever had, explaining: ‘An agent came to teach a class once, and he’s been my agent ever since.’

Her first big role came in CBBC’s Tracy Beaker Returns, a spin off from The Story of Tracy Beaker, which was announced in December 2008, as Carmen Howle.

Since then, she has appeared in a number of BBC daytime soap operas,  including Doctors as Sara Boswell and in Casualty as Aisha Karim.

Perhaps her biggest role to date came in the form of appearing opposite Michelle Keegan in Our Girl

Amy-Leigh will play the new character Nadia Farran in the fourth season of the hit Netflix series

Meanwhile she has also appeared on stage in a number of pantomimes, including Sleeping Beauty and Aladdin.

Her biggest break came in 2016, when she appeared in EastEnders as Linzi Bragg, a love interest for Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick).

She then portrayed Nasreen Paracha in Channel 4 school drama Ackley Bridge, before landing a role opposite Michelle Keegan in Our Girl.

The actress has also spoken about her fear of being type cast, revealing: ‘After every job, I always worry I’m never going to work again!

‘However, I do think that if you’re going to be playing characters on TV, then you need to know what it is to be all different kinds of people.’

‘I think if I didn’t worry about those kind of things, it would mean that I didn’t care, and that goes for any industry.’

Eve Austin

Soap actress Eve Austin will also be joining the cast of You as Gemma, having previously appeared in Emmerdale

Stalked: Penn Badgley’s character, Joe Goldberg, receives a taste of his own medicine from a vengeful serial killer as he attempts to keep a low profile under a new identity

In the new series of the show, Penn Badgley’s character, Joe Goldberg, receives a taste of his own medicine from a  vengeful serial killer as he attempts to keep a low profile under a new identity.

Following his move to London, and new life as Professor Jonathan Moore, Joe battles a fresh heartbreak, which he ominously calls the ‘catalyst for a new path.’

The trailer for the hit Netflix series begins with Joe receiving a flashback from his ex Marienne (Tati Gabrielle), who tells him he is a ‘murderer.’

‘You’re wrong about me,’ he replies. “I’m going to prove it to you.’

Later footage pans to him in a black tuxedo as he discovers that ‘laying low is imperative’ to his ability to survive.

Across the pond: Following his move to London, and new life as Professor Jonathan Moore, Joe battles a fresh heartbreak, which he ominously calls the ‘catalyst for a new path’

‘Turns out teaching’s fun and London’s not so bad,’ he notes. ‘I fell in with the most insane, damaged people on earth. A circle of privileged douchebags,’

Despite finding fulfillment in his career, Joe admits to wishing he he had ‘someone’ out there as he stares longingly at a neighbor from his window.

As he fights the urge to rebound, Joe ultimately asks why ‘the universe’ keeps taunting him with beautiful women.

But just as he finally feels settled, Joe receives a message from an unknown number, which reads: ‘Nice jacket. Brown’s your color.’

‘I ran away from this, but one of you is watching me,’ he thinks to himself while scrabbling to uncover who is stalking him.

‘One of you is hiding in plain sight, so who are’ he asks himself. ‘I just want my little European holiday back.’

You’s fourth season will be released in two parts. The show, based on Caroline Kepnes’ novels, has become a favorite of millions of Netflix users and critics alike.

Part one of the season will come out on February 10, 2023, while the season’s second part will be released one month later on March 10.

The previous season ended with Joe killing Love, the mother of his child, before jetting off to Europe in search of Marienne.
