Whether you prefer classic turkey breast or unorthodox Yorkshire pudding, these days it seems there’s a Christmas sandwich to suit every palate.
But now Britain’s favourite Christmas sandwich combination has been revealed once and for all – and it contains a bizarre mix of ingredients including turkey, pigs in blankets and mayonnaise.
The mega butty is also filled to the brim with stuffing, bacon, cheese, and cranberry sauce, according to Warburtons, who polled 2,000 Brits to find the ultimate festive recipe.

It’s certainly not one for health enthusiasts, as only thick white sliced bread will do for the nation’s favourite festive feast, which is traditionally eaten between 12pm and 1pm on Boxing Day according to the study.
While the ingredients for this sandwich are fairly conventional, 30 per cent of Brits have admitted adding even more unusual toppings – including chocolate coins and Christmas puddings – to their sarnies.

Nine per cent of Britons even said they would be adding avocados to their post-Christmas lunch this winter.
Although the nation’s favourite is quite the meat feast, veganism is on the rise, with one in seven saying they would have a Christmas sandwich sans animal products.
Most Brits eat their festive sandwiches between 12pm and 1pm on Boxing Day, using leftovers from Christmas Day. Some even add pudding or chocolate coins to theirs (file photo)
Favourite non-meat ingredients included roast potatoes, with 12 per cent of Brits adding them to their sandwiches, and falafel at seven per cent.
Darren Littler, innovation director at Warburtons, said: ‘The Christmas sandwich is a national talking point each year and it’s clear that Brits are particular when it comes to what should and should not be included.’
The news comes as M&S revealed their vegan No Turkey Feast, made with soya, has become the most popular of the store’s new sandwiches.
Despite the vegan offering proving a customer favourite, sales of their traditional Turkey Feast saw a ten per cent sale increase on last year.
