Princess Eugenie, 30, and Prince Harry, 36, were extremely close growing up and while Harry now lives across the Atlantic from his little cousin they are still on good terms. So good in fact, that Harry and Meghan have loaned their UK home Frogmore Cottage to Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank while they remain in the USA.
On February 9, Eugenie and Jack welcomed their first child to the world and on Saturday they shared the first photos of themselves posing with their son on Instagram.
The sweet post was also a chance for the new parents to share their baby boy’s name with the world revealing they had called him August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.
Prince Harry, Jack and Eugenie used to party together in their early twenties and were something of a tightknit group.
Eugenie and Jack were the first members of the Royal Family Harry chose to introduce to Meghan Markle not long after they first started dating.
Unlike Harry, Eugenie and Jack have never been working members of the monarchy and are allowed to take a more relaxed approach when it comes to conducting themselves in public.
According to a body language expert who has analysed photos of both couple’s with their newborn sons, Jack seems to mirror Harry’s unbridled joy at becoming a father.
While Jack was never bound by royal protocol, “besotted” dad Harry “broke from royal tradition” by showing his paternal side in the first photos of him with his son Archie.
Body language expert Judi James told Express.co.uk: “In terms of the body language of the two couples though there are some striking similarities and the way that Harry carried Archie to signal some very shared parental duties behind the scenes has been mirrored in the way that Jack is the one cradling August here.”
According to Judi, Jack’s body language suggests he is more relaxed than Harry when it comes to showing his fatherly affection.
The expert added: “Jack’s relaxed-looking fingers suggest he is a slightly less tentative dad than Harry but the other break with royal tradition for both men is the way they wear openly besotted and excited facial expressions rather than standing to one side in a sharp suit, posing with a proud alpha puffed chest like several other royal fathers.”
According to Judi both Harry and Jack’s first pictures with their sons show they are over the moon to have become fathers.
She said: “Both poses seem to imply happy, loving couples that almost can’t wait to get back indoors again to coo over their perfect babies.”

Analysing the different ways in which Eugenie and Meghan cradled their baby boys, Judi claimed both families are “a similarly strong unit.”
She said: “While Meghan stood to one side gazing down at Archie’s face before placing a rather protective and loving hand on Harry’s back as they walked away, Eugenie has placed one hand on baby August while also showing her very simple wedding band to signal a similarly strong unit of three as Harry, Meghan and Archie.”
Commenting on the contrasts between the Sussexes photos of them with Archie and those of little August with Eugenie and Jack, Judi said: “The emphatically casual and natural-looking setting for the first photos of Eugenie and Jack with their new baby August are in complete contrast to the first-glimpse photos we had of baby Archie with his parents Harry and Meghan.
“Archie was displayed surrounded by all the opulence of a palace setting and the way Harry and Meghan arrived from a distance and walked towards the press suggested high status and a very royal approach to the birth of the son of a prince.”
Judi added: “August seems to have been presented to the world in a very private and quite intimate outdoor setting and photographed by someone close to the couple.
“Eugenie has thrown a plain raincoat on over her dress and Jack looks as though he might have just arrived from a walk in the countryside. Harry and Meghan might have dressed down slightly for their shoot but Harry was still in a suit and Meghan in a chic, belted dress.”
Introducing August to the world, Eugenie wrote on Instagram: “We wanted to introduce you to August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.
“Thank you for so many wonderful messages. Our hearts are full of love for this little human, words can’t express.
“We are excited to be able to share these photos with you.
“By our wonderful midwife. Thank you to the wonderful essential workers including our midwife who came to discharge our boy.”
