My boyfriend is grating on me after three months in lockdown together

July 6, 2020

DEAR DEIDRE:  MY boyfriend moved in with me just as lockdown started though we had been together for just three months.

The first few weeks were great but I have got frustrated with him lately for no reason, especially if he doesn’t give me attention.

I’m 23 and he is 24. We have sex regularly but the little things we don’t do so much, like cuddling in the morning or going to bed together at night.

He plays on his Xbox a lot more. I’m over-reacting but feel myself getting upset and overwhelmed by it.

I don’t want to drive him away.

DEIDRE SAYS: Tell your boyfriend calmly you feel hurt by the amount of time he spends on gaming. It is addictive but ask him to cut it down to a couple of hours and stop at bedtime.

Initiate more cuddling yourself but tell him relationships don’t run themselves and yours needs an injection of fresh energy and excitement.
